Because Christmas?  Or because fried chicken?  Dammit now I want some fried chicken.

^ See the photo two posts up. I love fried chickens, just not kfc. My favorite fried chicken place is unfortunately 45 minutes away so I don't get to eat them too often.

^ I agree, but it gets bit complicated with two kids, especially when there are no other reasons to visit the area.

saw as low as $1.85 in Ohio. thanks Obama.

Still higher in south Florida, but it was a thrill nonetheless to fill the Smart with premium yesterday for about twenty bucks.

Around here it's $2.39/gallon. Still low enough I thought it was a mistake since I only fill my car up once a month.

Good, perhaps our housing market will get under control so I don't have to pay as much in property taxes.

As far as housing market, I can only speak to my area (So. Cal) but it seems like we are headed for another bubble.  The prices are going back up, albeit not as rapidly as the 2004-2008 insanity.  Some of the homes in our area for sale are going for, "you want how much fucking money?..." kind of prices.  Investors, speculation, and comps.  The holy trinity of bending you over...

Might be time to go on a long journey in the motorhome.  Alaska maybe.

This does not surprise me in the slightest.  When laws like Dodd-Frank pass, you just know it is a matter of time before it gets neutered by crooked politicians and the backers that got them into power.  This is not just a U.S. thing.  It is a by-product of globalization and loopholes that the big players get to take advantage of.

I have no problems with very wealthy people having shit loads of money; I have a problem with the mentality of it being okay to fuck over loads of people to get there.  I respect small and larger companies that work toward long term goals of slow steady growth and stability, but people like those in the linked article are loathsome.

At the REI Garage Sale in Dallas. Line wraps all the way around the building just to get your ticket telling you which 20 minutes slot you get to come back and shop. Nuts.

Now finished waiting in the line to get in the door and I am in the longer line to actually get into the garage sale.

All the fucking hippies that camped out cleared the place out before I got in. Nothing left.

Those kinds of sales are aimed at customers that have more time than money.  Jeff, I don't think that you fit the demographic.

It would not have been as bad but they allowed people to leave the warehouse with items before purchasing so the first group grabbed everything and took it out into the store to go through to decide what they actually wanted. Everything else they would just leave out there and employees or other customers would pick it up.

I actually started taking stuff out of the hoarders' piles and really pissed off some hipsters but I got a few things to make it worth my time.

Sounds like a nightmare Jeff!

I'll keep hiding behind my computer for most of my shopping!
