I couldn't find anywhere specific to brag about my awesome girlfriend who played Santa this year. I received a big kiss and a littman stethoscope. It was the best present ever and extremely thoughtful. I feel guilty accepting it as i know it cost her a small fortune and I'm not sure I'm worthy of such a nice instrument. Anyhow, I've been playing with it all evening and it is so much fun. What did Santa bring you this year (if you already know)?

This whole Connecticut shooting today really has my hackles up. On the way to the Philippines on 12/14 I will be in O'Hare from around 8am until my flight at 2pm. I don't plan on waiting the full 6 hours in the airport.....any suggestions on places I can go nearby to pass the time by? Dave is often my first suggestion for people looking to get into Jazz or experiment with timing. He was productive until the very end of his life, releasing live albums last year at the age of 90.
