Wild and Crazy Go Nuts!

  1. Started by arnesto,

I noticed that you can cuss and say just about anything you want in this forum. But I posted a tread a few weeks ago requesting some dating advise and it quickly got locked. Not sure why it got locked, but this site is surely taking a dive and I think it is because the interesting treads are being locked. Are we limited to only talking about really boring stuff here?

  2. Started by Pars,

I figured some of you do enough of this that it might be worth asking here. I need to rebuild the steps going into our house from the garage and would like to do some similar to the ones a friend has in his house. These appear to be box steps? Any ideas as to where I could find some plans for something similar to these? Thanks, Chris

  6. Oh dear, don't annoy the nerds, it only makes them mad .. http://people.xiph.o...neil-young.html Articles last month revealed that musician Neil Young and Apple's Steve Jobs discussed offering digital music downloads of 'uncompromised studio quality'. Much of the press and user commentary was particularly enthusiastic about the prospect of uncompressed 24 bit 192kHz downloads. 24/192 featured prominently in my own conversations with Mr. Young's group several months ago. Unfortunately, there is no point to distributing music in 24-bit/192kHz format. Its playback fidelity is slightly inferior to 16/44.1 or 16/48, and it takes up 6 times the space. There are a few re…

Figured I might as well post this over here too... We are very pleased to bring you the highest possible quality T-shirt ever offered to our community. The front and back artwork designed by Edwood is nothing short of spectacular! The short sleeve t-shirts are made by American Apparel offered in sizes Small to 3X-Large, which are considered in the industry to be the softest, smoothest and possibly best-looking T-shirts available. They are 100% Fine Jersey cotton construction with a durable rib neckband and run pretty true to size, if just a tad more fitted. The short sleeve 4X-Large and long sleeve T-shirts are made by Hanes, which are made out of 100% ring spun…

  8. I couldn't find anywhere specific to brag about my awesome girlfriend who played Santa this year. I received a big kiss and a littman stethoscope. It was the best present ever and extremely thoughtful. I feel guilty accepting it as i know it cost her a small fortune and I'm not sure I'm worthy of such a nice instrument. Anyhow, I've been playing with it all evening and it is so much fun. What did Santa bring you this year (if you already know)?

I am currently reading Kirkman's Walking Dead series. It's quite good, quite "human" -- reminds me a lot of Y: The Last Man, in a lot of ways (apocalyptic epic).

I said I would post some pics so here they are I'm not sure where to put them here so I just made a new thread.. It's all shot on b&w film. The images are so contrasty because of the film I used most of the time, Technical Pan for those interested, and developed in HC110, dillution depending on kind of Tech Pan film I used. The scanner doesn't use dust correction for b&w and I was too lazy to do all the retouching today so you might catch a little dust.

  17. I know I've started two threads in the digital section. Both of them weren't advertising, I was asking for help with two particular DACs. I'm trying to find one I created in February 2007 and it's not in my history of created threads (though two very old ones are) nor is it coming up on search. Is this normal?

Hey guys, New guy here, just found this place recently. I was previously on a *ahem* other forum of the similar nature. I don't have much in terms of setup, with a Sony PCM-D50 as a portable source and a vintage Luxman CD player as desktop. The MDR-EX1000 are probably my "only" headphones. I also have the ER-4PT in a drawer but I rarely listen to that. Don't know what else to say... Anyone else played Fate/stay night here? Have a nice day y'all!

Watching 2001 today I noticed a powder blue stuck pixel on my tv for the first time. I've tried every type of method to remove it with no luck. I've tried using a rapid color cycling program, tapping it with a pen cap lightly, and applying light pressure when the tv is off and then turning it on. I'm so OCD that I may just have to burn the tv now and get a new one. Are there any methods that I haven't tried yet that you know of?
