I went out to the mailbox today, and heard a little rustling in the bushes next to the house. Knew immediately, and visually verified it was Momma Rabbit, who is a regular in the hood. I see her out grazing every night, and it makes for a country feel in the middle of Dallas... along with the squirrels, hawks (that love squirrels and rabbits), and the occasional bobcat, who loves anything furry, including household pets. For some reason my Firefox browser is running like crap as of late. I'm on a 1.33 GHz PowerPC G4, got 2 gigs of ram, I've defragged-run Tech Tool Pro and it still has been loading like molasses. I've ended up going back to Safari at the moment. I don't really have that many extras on mine, I've downloaded the latest and copied it over the old one... and no luck. I'm at the end of my rope. Any suggestions?

Subbing the Eico or Heathkit amps into the EXACT SAME setup works perfectly, so it must be the 2100, right? Wrong! Well it's been a tough week already so I decided to go out in my back yard, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset with my new best friend. He is not much on conversation but in his own way he has some entertaining anecdotes on life.

So i have this 300mhz old cryomagnet that i can't give away, and otherwise really don't know what to do with it. I know he's ugly but he's so sweet and friendly that I couldn't resist him at the animal shelter. Don't let his gruff, wild cat like looks fool you, he's the friendliest cat I've met. He starts to purr as soon as anybody enters the rooms he's in.

I have no idea why, I sure didn't do anything, but my cellphone is doing the weirdest stuff. The screen is flashing, it won't recieve service, and when I press a button, it makes a weird "shock" sound. It's like a Packard Bell computer without the huge tower. :'( Even sadder is this is the 3rd replacement in one year. Damn phone.

So, my son wants to go to CSU in Fort Collins like his mother, to study Biomedical Sciences (pre-med). Tonight he got an email offering him one of the 72 slots for freshmen in the program. It's gonna be strange with his sister going to a rival school, CU Boulder (Go Buffs, Go Rams, Go Buffs, Go Rams!). At least there's only one year of overlap before she graduates. I had dreams of them sharing a car and apartment for that year, but CU Boulder would make him live in the dorms his first year anyway, so part of that plan wouldn't have worked. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I had ordered a Thorens turntable from an e-bayer. The table (from the pics) looked to be in good order. I "sniped" the table at around $150. I was filled with excitement! I pleaded with the seller to disassemble it for shipping. But, alas, I guess to save money, he did not. When the table arrived, everything seemed alright. But I immediately noticed the idiot refused to listen to me when I pleaded with him to remove the platter from the main unit and pack it separately. Having room to move about, the platter completely sheared off the pulley system from the motor. I was both angry and sad. Worst of all, the table was sold AS-IS. …

I'm giving thought to selling my touch.I haven't used it in about a month, and daddy needs an exhaust for his (pending) new bike. I have my mac with me all day at school, and I'm probably going to pickup a shuffle for workouts. I don't know if I need my touch anymore.

Once again this year I'm prepping to ride a century in support of the Kelly Brush Foundation. Between indoor Zwifting, the MTBs, and the upgraded Canyon this spring I'm creeping up on 3,000 miles in preparation this year and will surpass that mark before the event. Once again this year it'll be an in-person ride up in VT, with friends mostly coming from near-by so we should have a strong crew of 8 with some riding the 50 and most doing the full 100 miles. For me this is the 11th century that I've done in support of either Northeast Passage or Kelly Brush and I'm looking forward to enjoying it and hoping that our trend of good weather continues. This year marks a return to form (hopefully) and therefore I'm prepping to ride the full century in support of the Kelly Brush Foundation. The effects of the tick bite appear to have waned since around Christmas so I've been training hard, mixing in quite a bit of mountain bike riding as well as other non-bike-related exercise and actually doing a little weight training. It appears to be paying off. For those that don't know, the Kelly Brush Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with spinal cord injuries in finding ways to get out and enjoy an active lifestyle. Between indoor Zwifting, the MTB, and multiple road bikes I've been pounding (or is it prancing?) on the pedals this year. I've amassed some 2,600+ training miles already with a goal of getting as close to 3,000 before the event as possible.
