But since it's my birthday, maybe someone can help without whipping me for being so stupid and lazy... "Hey Wayne. Can you recommend a set of in-ear monitor for my motorcycle helmet communication system in the $200 ballpark. I’m not listening to music on them; purely for Atom use for driver <-> passenger communication, and the occasional phone call. I’m looking for something that I can comfortably wear inside a helmet for hours at a time. Thanks. Nick. PS. How are you, I haven’t heard from you in a while." Seems to me that he's looking for custom IEMs on the lowest end of the food chain. Some…

Hello, I'm considering buying the akg k242's. Does anyone own or tried these cans and if so, what did you think? They retail for $279, any other brands in the $250-$300 price range that are better? Thankyou for your time and consideration, Newtuber

I had those HP-2 recabled 80's you gave me woodied, rescreened and added wood rod stoppers. I now have flat pads on them too. Man they sound good! Thanks again .... the 80 has been one of my alltime best gifts!

Anyone know of a headband pad that will fit the Grado MS2; either the narrow or wide headband style? I have both headband types. I want to add the headband pads so I get a tighter fit. If you know of any .... links or contact info would be appreciated.

  10. Just in case anyone here still listens to headphones. The Marketing The Review No USB-C audio? am dissapoint. An apple airpod max pro 2 ultra or whatever they are called rival? Well, it has the premium pricing, vs the XM6 (relatively) pleb version.

  11. I am a fairly new owner of Stax (about two months) and am very happy with my Lambda Pro. I also have a plain Lambda but haven't used it much yet. As some of you may know, I have been doing some renovations on the Pros, such as making DIY leather ear pads (really, just covering the stock earpads) with leather. This worked quite well. I am turning my attention to other things. Both pairs of headphones arrived without the dust covers. I've found some threads here that debate what material, or whether to even use them. Another fair target for my "upgrade everything possible to leather" has been the headband. I did this, but the results were quite disappointing. …

I posted this on head-fi, too, since so far as I know these haven't been discussed over there by anyone who's heard them, but, you know, I'd prefer to have a discussion about them here. I haven't seen many posts about the SRH750DJ, but I bought them just a few days ago. They're really fantastic for the money. A little background: I recently sold my Edition 9 and will likely be ordering a JH13 or JH16 within a month or two. In the interim, I was planning to rely on my HD25s, but my car was broken into a month or so ago and the headphones were stolen along with my GPS. I wasn't going to buy a pair of headphones for just a few months of use, but I did want have a backup…

I just bought a pair of AKG 701 headphones, and was wondering about the power rating. Their rated at 200mW. My amp puts out 300mW. I have to turn up the volume between 3/4 to all the way to get a decent volume level. Am I risking damge to the phones? There really not terribly loud at all. The Amp is a V.A.L. E10 tube hybrid.

  15. Hello! I am a new member of the forum. I am not a native English speaker. Hope you can understand my words. Are electrostatic headphones suitable for listening to rock and some metal music? I like listening to some bands like Lacirmosa, Metillac, Green Days, and The offspring. I also like listening to Haggard, Within Temptation, Nightwish, and some jap-rock. I want the headphone to have a good performance on vocals, especially the female vocals. I don't want the human vocals to be too far away or too thin. The bass is not the shortboard. The high pitch should not be too bright. Or I think I should use high here not high pitch. My English is very poor. 😢😢😢 I…

  17. that search function is really pad. it doesn't even narrow things down and will locate the terms even in common words... anyway. please address tonal balance, detail (and i mean detail as in detail...throught the range... not as in "oh noez! dis shit gotz lozta highz~!"), isolation, and comfort.

  18. Started by The Equalizer,

I have a pair of Stax SR Omega headphones (serial number 00199). These are still the best headphones I have ever heard. This is an old set which has stood the test of time. I continue to use them as a reference during my mixes. The head bow broke in two places near the top and middle. From a factory authorized repair shop I purchased the last head bow they had two years ago. They came from another model. I need to find a suitable replacement. I am not afraid to make modifications to the support system. Any Ideas?

  19. Oh man... Why did i just finally wait to pop my flat pads on the these badboys.... i didn't much care for them on stock hf1's, but what a huge bass impact... it brings the sparkle in the highs a bit back from the larger chambers, and sacrfices sound stage a touch... but wow.... amazing. Not saying I prefer one or the other, but this might actually satiate my urge for a gs1k or rs1 down the line... it doesn't get much better then this for me.

  20. Started by ronnielee54,

I have had the oppritunity to audition these cans twice. Once unamped out of ipod and once with an iBasso P1. Was dissapointed both times. Knew I would be with them unamped. Not quite as dissapointed with them out of the P-1 but something was still lacking. Have since upgraded to AE-2 and was wondering if this amp would be more suited for them (no longer have cans avilable for auditioning). Have found a couple of really good deals on used ones (around 120 USD shipped). Not much to loose and could always resell if I didn't like results. Would be used mostly for Blues or older Rock (no metal).

I only just discovered the ATH-ES10, and it looks to be fairly high grade. Anyone heard both this and the ESW10 and want to compare? Or have other things to say about the ES10 (that's the shiny titanium one)?
