Who Would Want to Meet These People?!

  1. Started by Luminette,

Hey guys. I have a mini-meet coming up here that I am hosting at my place on both Nov 1st and Nov 2nd (second day is more an optional ordeal - not sure we'll have enough to make it worth it but I wanted to set aside more time for being objective in reviews and such) I haven't posted about it on Head-Fi because of the obvious, and that I only want so many people in my home. I'd be happy to bring in more HCers It will be in Denver, right off of the i-25 & Yale / i-25 & Hampden exits (sandwiched between the two) If you're interested, just PM me and I'll give you all the details

-- Provisional Meet -- It has been far too long since Southern California had a headphone meet. We are the largest headphone community on Head-Fi and the 2009 Can-Jam host city. I hosted the last two big So Cal meets and we're long overdue for another get-together. One of the main challenges hosting a meet in Los Angeles is the cost of the meeting space. My proposal is an advance ticket purchase event. Most meets collect money at the event to cover costs with members usually contributing $10-$20. So rather than passing the hat at the meet and hope we cover our costs, I am asking people contribute up front. In order to make this event a reality, advance ticket sales…

  3. SF Bay Area Meet in Marin -- Saturday, October 18, 2008 For those of you who can't make it down to LA, as a warm up to Burning Amp, and as the 2nd Anniversary of the 2006 Marin Meet, we are holding the first state wide meet in Stereo! Date: Saturday 18th October Time: 10:00 am until lights out (i.e., late) Location: Larkspur at the top of Skylark Drive I have secured the apartment complex activity room. The venue is located close to 101 (from North / South) and the 580 Richmond Bridge (from the east). This google map location shows the room, which is just southeast of the pool (try zooming out in hybrid mode to get the context): Top of skylark drive D…

  4. This is also in the other site's meet forum as well. The hospital is letting us use a conference room (free) for the day. Bring your power strips. Let us know what you can bring. To the old timers, please join in and let us newer members see what a nice rig can do. I'd love to hear some high end gear. This place is off of I-71 and St. road 35. Downtown.

  5. well its not much like the usual meets posted in these boards but oz of let there be sound sent me an email inviting me to a local audiophile's home as he has graciously agreed to let people just walk in and audition his genesis speakers in some uber professionally treated room. also, the president of genesis speakers shall also be there at his house. oz included his cell phone number in case any of you would like to go or have any other questions. i plan on attending sometime after 2pm on sunday so if any fellow headfiers would like to go, pm me and we can meet up somewhere or just head over to the given address. sorry for the late post, but i just got to know about this…

A heads-up for those in the San Francisco area, The Burning Amp Festival, featuring Nelson Pass, Siegfried Linkwitz and lots of other cool guys. It should be one hell of a treat for anyone in the area who can make it, lots of cool stuff and there'll probably be enough tech talk to make your head spin. It's a great chance to hang out, listen to great gear, and learn more things in one day than you ever thought possible.

  7. Started by Tyll Hertsens,

Hi all you Lalalanders! I'm doing the LA/OC Audiophile Society meet again, and would love to have any of you there who wish to come. Here's the official page. Please feel free to bring gear if you'd like. I will have the Audiophile Desktop playing in the room at times, so sealed headphones would be good if you have them. Here's the details: Sunday, August 24, 12-4pm at the Holiday Inn in Buena Park. Please let me know here if you plan to come. Thanks! See you then!

  8. Would there be any interest in getting a meet up and running? Would be willing to travel to Columbus if easier for all. Seems like a lot of Ohio heads just waiting for a music party. This area seems to be taboo since the whole Mikey1 party got pissed on. Really would like to hear some serious rigs to know in what direction to continue my home hp project. So far I have a SP Platinum and 701s. I am wanting to listen to some sources & hps to find out my sound before spending $$$ for a decent component. I just need some folk to show off some primo gear.

  9. Started by Icarium,

My place in Mountain View (Zipcode 94043). Date decided after much dilly dallying. I'll pass out my address to those who confirm. I will probably post something the week of if we don't have too many people interested.

The summer NorCal meet is set up for Saturday 6/28/2008 in San Mateo at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in the Iris room. The room is 1100 square feet and will hold 18 6 foot tables. This set up should hold up to 36 member rigs or less with vendor set ups. We have the room from 10am to 6pm we have power on all four walls but members will need to bring power strips to distribute power. I will be contacting the usual vendors to see if there is an interest in coming to our meet. Craig from Eddie Current has said he should be there with a new amp that he has been fine tuning since CanJam. Here is the Hotel information Hilton Garden Inn Hotel San Mateo California - San Mateo Ai…

  12. Started by Nenso,

I don't think there are any Vancouver ppl but I would like to hear new gear! I might as well try to get some veteran Vancouver meet host from Head-fi to do an IC there and organize one but I was wondering if anyone here is interested.

  13. Summer Atlanta Meet - July 5, 2008 (Loganville, GA) - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio I'm going to try to go if the wife feels up to keeping the kids. Coming from the greater chattavegas area. If anyone is on the way, and I can go, we could carpool or something. Otherwise its a few hours at speeds grossly exceeding the speed limit for me. Just a heads up for those who may have missed it. **BRENT**

Hey guys, I'm planning to buy my first pair of "serious" headphones soon. And from what I've read/been told, I should respect people's opinions, but I should ultimately try any phones I'm considering personally in person. So I was wondering if there were any Head-fi people from the 50th state, Hawaii. I'm located on Oahu, Chinatown area. Is anyone out there willing to allow me to sample some of their gear? So far I'hve only planned to buy ceap KSC 75 and JVC Marshmallows to have a good portable and IEM. To see if I can handle walking around with something sticking in my ears. Thanks for reading, please PM me if you're interested.

I posted an interest check on the other site for a Montreal mini-meet, but I thought it might be a good idea to ask people on the Dark Side too. No details on the "when" and the "where" for the moment, just a quick look to see who would be interested. I'm not even sure if there are Montrealers here.

  20. As stated above a meet in the Netherlands. There's a thread going on at the forum linked to below (probably familiar by many of you ) and the gear that will be present is quite interesting. I know, a lot of Ultrasones but lots of other goodies! http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f24/march-16th-netherlands-meet-hans-qables-291563/index16.html

Seattle Spring meet: 3.22.08!!! I like the numerology of it (3*2) +2=8. The next two meets should be doozies. Spring will begin our push to get more vendor participation, and at least one summer meet will be hosted by Gil who is donating his garage space and two-barrel barbecue. So March...June...September...December...and maybe more. Last weekend's mini meet was a lot of fun, but I hope in the future we can have mini meets as well as "last minute" meets so that everyone can participate. I also want to give some thought (with all of you, as well) to building up some themed meets. Yeah, that's right. No challenge in just bringing all of your gear. How about a …
