Had Thanksgiving dinner with Carl and Bonnie. Very nice evening. I'm full and happy.4 points

Thankfully, we were both feeling little better by night time so we were able to partake upon some of the leftovers. We missed out on seeing the family (daughter and I stayed at in-laws house as the lunch/dinner is at another relatives house) but we'll get to see them next month. As others have said, I think a cancellation policy would be a good idea, Santa.2 points

Cheers Bryan from your West Coast Big Bro! Toasted you first thing this morning with a dram of Matt's Nog. There's enough whiskey in this stuff to justify the Glencairn, that is for sure! Have a great turkey birthday! Cheers!2 points

James Lin insists that srx can be made much better with 10m90s cascaded into dn2540. I have a board pending verification. I have not heard it, so I don't know. The difference between being better in theory and actually being beter... ?1 point

Wayne, you might want to have a cancellation policy for clients that have previously cancelled. If you have loyal, long time clients who have never cancelled, you might not want to risk irritating them due to the sins of others.1 point

Here's a review where they compare the stock vs. a ModWright "Truth" unit: http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/modwright-oppo-bdp-105-with-truth-modifications/ The comparison with the Esoteric player was a nice bonus. Now I'd like a comparison of the Audiocom vs. the Modwright vs. the Arcam UDP411 one of the commenters mentions. I'm glad to hear that the DAC and clock in the stock unit are considered top-notch, in addition to the Oppo's reference-quality video processing. I wonder if Oppo buys samples of the modded players for R&D in their upcoming products. I'll keep posting an article every two years. Here's a great one about working at Radio Shack on Thanksgiving. http://www.sbnation.com/2014/11/26/7281129/radioshack-eulogy-stories "This is a consumer technology business that is built to work perfectly in the year 1975. The Internet comes around, and this, being a technology company, is expected to move on it aggressively and know what it's doing, except basically nobody really understood the Internet for a very long time. So they whiffed big a few times. Then the iPhone came around and rendered half the stuff RadioShack sold completely redundant. This company needed to become something radically different a decade ago. I just don't think it knows how to be anything else. It's like retracing the steps and doings of a drunk person: okay, here's where he keyed the cop car. Wait, why'd he do that? I don't know, but his pants are lying here, so this is before he stripped naked and tried to rob the library."1 point

Many of the things that On-semi are now dropping seem to have equivalents (or near-enough equivalents) from Fairchild and others, except if you need/want the MPSW 1W package. That said, I'd never thought I see the day where I considered stockpiling BC547Bs just to be safe... //UFN1 point
