I was under the impression that balance and offset of +/-20V are within spec for an electrostatic headphone amp... why worry about +/-1.5V, let alone +/-50mV? Not that I discourage overkill perfectionism.

It is possible. I have recoated two pairs of old Lambda Signature and they work fine. There is a risk of breaking mylar as I did for the first time, when I was opening driver. But any other try was without issues.

The 3-4 volts offset was a bit of a disappointment. Turned out OP27 was (partly) defect. New OP installed and now I get readings as below. No signal at input and DC at outputs are in mV range. No trimmers, just power up, inhale and all is set.

This is now also pretty killer I think. Date window again much better at six and nicely sized at 38.5mm.

Poached eggs, grilled asparagus, kale and grilled bread.

Red beans and rice using my new instant pot. Threw a little smoked paprika in it to replace the flavor bacon and ham hocks would provide. Turned out pretty good, and was super quick compared to normal beans and rice.

Ehh, I hear you. I'm sure there is new and improved and better. Always is. But I've always loved the SDS-XLR. Don't care what anyone else says, it's an incredible amp to my ears. I've never had any trouble with it either. The house hasn't burnt to the ground, etc. That, and I don't do a ton of headphone listening anymore. Would love to hear some of these amps though, don't get me wrong. I think there would be value in it for someone who listens to headphones as much as I did, say 10 years ago or so.
