It’s a balanced board. Inputs in center. Outputs at far right and far left. Positive rail at top edge and negative rail at bottom. Dynahi boards mounted to 80 mm x 300 mm heat sinks. Here I’ve removed upper screws holding front and back plates to heat sinks and then “unfolded” for maintenance. To make it possible to unfold the wires are made “to long” when folded and then it looks like a snake nest. This is an Only DIY version, not to be sold... I hope this makes it a bit clearer.6 points

^^ Listened to some of this last night, agreed. For me, needed some lighter but somewhat sophisticated pop, and another 80's/90's group (person) is at it again.2 points

Crybaby - Tegan and Sara I'm late to the party on these two, but I like what I hear. Really pleasant listen.2 points

That add-on update is out and you'll now see the return of the newly improved birthday widget 🥳🎉.2 points

A slightly reworked “Dynahi smd” board. Balance and offset trimmers removed. Now servo on each side that bring the offsets to ground potential. Bias trimmers moved to north for easier accessibility “in flight”. This is a "solder and play" board. No set up procedures required, except to turn bias trimmers to desired bias. At least that’s the idea.2 points

I'm surprised we don't have this in the first TV subforum page. I finished yesterday the first and only season (so far) of "Mare of Easttown" on HBO. I really liked it, very well acted, Kate Winslet did a fantastic job.1 point

if you do not have a digital voltmeter and do not know how to use it, then you need to stop now before you get hurt. find someone that has experience with high voltage tube amplifiers.1 point

this is another of the JR audio builds where they took my gerber files and reloaded them and then proceeded to do a hack job on the boards changing all the part values to R# and C# without supplying schematics, moved around a bunch of lands so that they could replace the english connectors with metric connectors, then had boards made with 1 oz copper. the +/-15 supply is of their own design with the ic's having their numbers sanded off etc. since there is no sound from either channel its likely that one or more of the power supplies is not functioning. after the felista megatron, i am DONE with trying to repair stuff that is built like this. someone with the expertise as well as a stock of required parts will be needed to fix this. many of the parts are on infinite backorder.1 point

I wonder if the Audeze-provided EQ is the one from Bob Katz's review of the CRBN (https://positive-feedback.com/reviews/hardware-reviews/audeze-crbn-electrostatic-headphones/ and https://positive-feedback.com/audio-discourse/audeze-crbn-headphones-part-two/). (Spoiler alert: he loves the CRBN, and his EQ is fairly mild.)1 point

Aren't Peter and Dusty two different personas/personalities? Maybe they SHOULD have 2 different threads. Anyway...Happy Birthday, with a <Party Favor Noise> 🥳 included1 point

Of course, the first thing I see when I go to the new and improved birthday widget is Germania / child of the horn or whatever the fuck. Brings to mind the good old days... Thanks for updating it Todd!1 point

Had the Expanse for a few days, I like them a real lot, the best headphones I’ve heard to date. This is a new dawn and a bleak future facing my E-stats longevity. I was thinking these would compliment the SR-007 MK 2 / Carbon but this really is a take over.1 point

Good thoughts Dusty, and I tend to agree; started listening last night.....it's not Tiger Mountain or Warm Jets by any means 😄 I've enjoyed it so far though!1 point

I looked into this because I know Todd is a busy guy. 1. It appears that the Calendar feature has now been replaced by something called "Events". 2. They intentionally removed the ability to display birthdays as a default feature. There's an add-on that I'll try to get Todd to incorporate and see if that fits the bill. It's a nominal fee that I'll cover.1 point

A long belated RIP to a cousin by marriage....my Stepfather's nephew Barry, who was a musician under the name Barri. I found out from my Stepbrother just today that he had passed in 2020, apparently of some kind of cancer; he hadn't been in touch with the family in years so even my Stepbrother only just found out. I have one of his CD's, it's a pretty darn good and musical one of modern Reggae influenced by some Roots. This is a Promo pic from a single off his CD, he had dreadlocks down to his ankles!
