May 27, 201313 yr Yeah, I never know what the appropriate salutation is on a day like today, "Happy Memorial Day" seems inappropriate, but I did want to acknowledge those who have died while in the service. So a toast to those gone -- thank you for your service.
May 27, 201313 yr To the fallen. Tradition lately seems to have become reminding people (even with good intentions) the difference between Veteran's Day and Memorial Day. Edited May 27, 201313 yr by blessingx
May 27, 201313 yr Raising a glass to our fallen heroes. Thanks for all that you do and for keeping us safe.....and that includes our active service people too.
May 28, 201313 yr Raising a glass to those who served and serve. Though they did not participate in an active conflict, I raise a glass in memory of my brothers Paul (Navy) and Chuck (Army). I miss them.
May 28, 201313 yr Thanks to those who have fallen for our freedom! Edited May 28, 201313 yr by shellylh
May 28, 201313 yr Cheers to all who all who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our freedom. Bully!
May 25, 201511 yr Author Bumping...here's what I posted on Facebook, paraphrasing: I know you don't like war. None of us do. I know you want what's best for our soldiers, to come home, all of us do. I know you may disagree with the politics of some of our politicians. All of us do at one point or another. And to protect our rights, from hostile enemies who don't share our values and wish to change us, we have our soldiers. And some of those soldiers do not come home. This day, remember them. I give thanks to those who have paid the ultimate price in these violent times. I hope they all are resting in peace now.
May 26, 201511 yr Yes, thanks for resurrecting this thread Dusty! Thanks to all who have served and sacrificed!
May 26, 201511 yr Toasting the friends I have lost and fallen fellow comrades. Cheers brothers. Air Cav!
May 26, 201511 yr Heartfelt thanks and respect to those who have and do serve. My dad included (Korean war, Captain in Air Force), though he never flew in combat; and several uncles and great-uncles.....
