February 25, 201412 yr Yeah, saw this today, very sad. I always liked his drollness and sense of humor. RIP.

February 25, 201412 yr Author RIP. Always thought he was great in every role he played. As Pars said, droll. Also one of those actors who was quite good at expressing himself just with his eyes.
February 25, 201412 yr Back to the National Lampoon Radio Hour for me. RIP Harold. You made a shitload of people laugh.
February 26, 201412 yr Author RIP Paco de Lucia, you were an amazingly talented man. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-26351251
February 26, 201412 yr Friday Night in San Francisco has always been one of my favorite pure guitar albums of all time. Will play some cuts and raise a glass to Paco this evening. Should get inspired, and listen to some flamenco as well. RIP, Paco. Only 66 y.o.
February 26, 201412 yr RIP, Paco. A heartfelt loss, he was among my dad's favorite musicians, and mine too.
February 26, 201412 yr RIP.....an incredible talent lost.... My son's guitar teacher, who was originally from Portugal, I think had played with PDL....he at least knew him (and same with Andres Segovia)
February 27, 201412 yr Jim Lange, 1st host of Dating Game dies at Mill Valley home at 81 from heart failure. Lange hosted show for a decade.
March 2, 201412 yr There's an argument we lost the greatest living director today, Alain Resnais, still making films (and winning awards) at 91. Hiroshima Mon Amour, probably more than any film, colors what I think narrative film can achieve. No great obits yet, but I'll post when I see one. Instead a video summary of HMA...http://youtu.be/naFUgAHZusEHere's one: http://thedissolve.com/news/1616-alain-resnais-1922-2014/?utm_content=buffera38a5&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer And another (especially worth a read for fans of Inception): http://moviemorlocks.com/2014/03/03/alain-resnais-gone-home-to-marienbad/ Edited March 3, 201412 yr by blessingx
March 2, 201412 yr Fuck. This thread is really depressing. Some of my favorites just in the last couple of weeks.
March 16, 201412 yr Author David Brenner died today. He was 78. Can't say I ever "got" the fascination with his humor because most of his jokes were painfully obvious and thus not particularly funny, but he seemed like a nice enough guy. Friggin' cancer. RIP.http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news&id=9467702 Edited March 16, 201412 yr by Wmcmanus
March 16, 201412 yr Fuck cancer. I liked David Brenner even with the bad jokes. Edited March 16, 201412 yr by Voltron
March 16, 201412 yr "Had Jack A. Kinzler not built model planes as a boy, had he not visited the post office as a youth and had he not, as a grown man, purchased four fishing rods at $12.95 apiece, Skylab — the United States’ $2.5 billion space station — would very likely have been forfeit."http://mobile.nytimes.com/2014/03/15/us/jack-kinzler-skylabs-savior-dies-at-94.html?_r=0&referrer=
March 16, 201412 yr IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM IGGY: My dear friend Scott Asheton passed away last night. Scott was a great artist, I have never heard anyone play the drums with more meaning than Scott Asheton. He was like my brother. He and Ron have left a huge legacy to the world. The Asheton's have always been and continue to be a second family to me. My thoughts are with his sister Kathy, his wife Liz and his daughter Leanna, who was the light of his life. Iggy Pop
March 17, 201412 yr Bummer on Asheton....I was glad to see the Asheton's reunite with Iggy. Even when Ron died, it was good to see them still going. And RIP Jack Kinzler; what an interesting story!
