Fuck in snow

Featured Replies

First time (well at least so far) that the snow plow has not sent

my mailbox into oblivion in 15 years. Sure toasted a few others

however. They must have been going at least 30 mph down the street.

I have the mailbox on an old single piece of a truck spring, so

you whack the thing and it just springs back.

Whenever i hear the snow plow barrel down the street, i'm out

there 5 minutes later to clean the slush off the end of the

driveway before it turns into one solid chunk of ice. The new

snowblower i have has this extra feature that turns ice and

wet mush into water which it throws out of the way at least

40 feet.

Absolutely no problems getting to work and back with the vette the last

2 days.

  • Same as every gay bar I've ever entered.

  • We lost power for about 12 hours which is nothing, all things considered, and we've got the generator/transfer-switch so it was really only out for 4 hours because I didn't feel like setting it all up

  • Side benefit of all the late snow, the ability to snowshoe with the kids.  Got andrew out for a little walk in the woods this afternoon.

Well, we're expecting few inches here over the weekend. Joy.

As are we. I have heard anywhere between 1"-6".

Not sure when is normal for you East coasters. In Anchorage we could usually expect to have permanent snow on the ground by late October. And that would last until mid April.

Everyone knows I'm not the biggest fan of Texas, but I do enjoy the winters here. :)

Crap, sorry to hear that Haj; hope you get it back soon. I have this pic somewhere of my son playing in about 5" of snow in front of a pumpkin, was an earlier-in-October storm than this year IIRC. We should be getting into the 50's later this week, and hopefully the trick-or-treaters won't be hindered. But still.....dang rude of this weather.....

In Atlanta if there's even a snow flurry everybody flips their shit and the whole city shuts down.

Man, sorry to hear about all the power losses. Hopefully it'll come back soon.

I sure as heck wasn't prepared for this. Not that we got any accumulation in Kensington, but still to see the white stuff coming down before Halloween is surreal. Not even when I lived in Worcester MA I saw this shit....

Forecast said 6"...

I didn't lose power which was good

Power is not back yet and I'm pretty sure there's a tree down in the cul de sac, right in front of oir driveway.

Just got power back. Probably close to 6" of the heaviest snow I've seen in a while. Shoveling it was like shoveling after getting a foot of snow, followed by a couple inches of rain.

Yep. Way too early for snow, hope all of you get power back and dug out OK.

Nothing stuck in the DC area. I was still worried about the power going out because of how shitty my power company is, but luckily nothing happened. Good luck to everyone digging out.

The latest estimate is that "it may be days" before we have our power back.
