That's incredible... I thought you were on a ski slope, until I saw the basketball hoop!

  • Same as every gay bar I've ever entered.

  • We lost power for about 12 hours which is nothing, all things considered, and we've got the generator/transfer-switch so it was really only out for 4 hours because I didn't feel like setting it all up

  • Side benefit of all the late snow, the ability to snowshoe with the kids.  Got andrew out for a little walk in the woods this afternoon.

How bad is the possible Monday storm looking for you, Nate? I have a feeling it'll be another snow day for us.

EDIT - poor typing fixed.

10-14 now for us, and holy crappy typing on my previous post.

Currently in Monee, with no sign of stopping. Worse, Three Floyds is closed!!!

Going to roof-rake today, just in time for that additional snow that Haj & Nate mentioned......lovely.....

Good luck snow people.

FFF should be a refuge from snow and Super Bowl Sundays.

Roof raking, I remember it well.  Hang in there, snow folk.

Mike Sr, FFF closing is just wrong, sacrilegious, even.

Allison's supposed to fly out of O'Hare at 8:30 tomorrow morning. I can't imagine that will actually happen given it's snowed non-stop the last 13-14 hours here.

Going to roof-rake today....

Don't they sell drones for that?

Linus dumped 13.8 inches of new snow on us.

Now the really not fun part begins.

8° with wind gusts in the low 30's ....

3" on the ground this morning when I left and it was snowing pretty hard.  It's light stuff again, courtesy of temps in the single digits, but is supposed to go on all day with winds progressively getting worse and topping out near 40mph.

Spent about 45 minutes getting our car unburied from our single spot just now. I don't know what our total accumulation ended up at but the non-drifts are taller than our dog, so at least 13 inches. The snow was suprisingly light... felt much heavier walking through it yesterday as it was coming down.

I think I saw where we got 14.5" out in the sw burbs. I'll shoot a pic of the deck after I get out and run the snowblower again. Shoveling the end of the driveway yesterday was a good time, reserved for my sons :) I started on it after determining there was no way my small snowblower was going to deal with that. I quickly decided this wasn't old guy work. Very glad I put a new auger belt on Saturday as it would have been worthless without it.

Shouldn't be too bad today, other than the dude running the snowplow for the cul-de-sac that I am on the corner of plowed snow across the corner of the sidewalk so not sure how I will get the snowblower over to the cul-de-sac sidewalk. Also not sure I am going to worry about it :)

I heard on the radio it was 19 1/2" at O'Hare. I saw 3 SUVs stuck in either the alleyways or side streets on the way in this AM. I pushed right through with my trusty Subaru!

School was canceled for the kids. Luckily, since Anne is leaving her job anyway, she can call in this time! :)

Finished the first round of shoveling about an hour ago.  Just looked outside and there are already 3-4 inches back on the driveway.

We had about 14" in Monee. Luckily the homeowners association covers snow removal (we do pay for it in fees of course). They did driveways this morning and are supposed to be coming back for sidewalks tonight.

Just went out myself and cleared out part of our non-plowed-area with Andrew.  You're right, Haj, seems to have dropped several inches quickly.

And it's fucking cold out too......went quickly through my scarf layer on my face....

We got at least double what we had from the last storm of the century. Just spent about 2 hours clearing the driveway and walk. It only took so long because the snow blower would spit it into the air, and the wind would put it right back where it started.
