OK, I was going to call you on the 12 years after spending 40 in Alaska, but I'd say the 2 years in South Dakota will more than make up the difference.

Carry on.

  • Same as every gay bar I've ever entered.

  • We lost power for about 12 hours which is nothing, all things considered, and we've got the generator/transfer-switch so it was really only out for 4 hours because I didn't feel like setting it all up

  • Side benefit of all the late snow, the ability to snowshoe with the kids.  Got andrew out for a little walk in the woods this afternoon.

Yeah, I figure 2 years in South Dakota is worth at least 20 years almost anywhere else.

  • 1 month later...

It's been snowing for the last three days with high winds. There's over a foot of it on the ground, and the kids's school has been closed for the last two days. Going down to -30'C this weekend.

We're leaving for Florida/metalcruise in 51 days.

I can see why Florida / Metalcruise would be appealing in comparison.

It's 8°C here today so you are welcome for a visit.  :)

Iceland is on our bucket list, and airfare is pretty cheap to get there! We'll visit one of these days, for sure. Maybe in the summer though.

Kasia decided we needed a cycling snow man outside.

It's now warmed up to a glorious -20, without any wind or cloud. Not bad at all.

I was going to ask the silly question, C or F, they quickly realized at that point it really doesn't really matter, they are converging, ha ha.

F=C ------> Freaking Cold!!!

-40 is the convergence point.  -20C is a lot warmer than -20F

yeah, I know, but still it is about -25F so not a huge difference, they get closer at that range

sorry, I got that very wrong....  must be my mushy brain..... -20C = -4F  You are right Dan.  :_)

That's one of the 3 best arguments for F* I believe I've ever heard.
