Just received an email from CCB alerting fans that if the Tampa City Council does not renew their temporary wet zoning or make it permanent, the tasting room will close 12/16/10. This will not have an effect on our get together fortunately. The council voted to a 3 -3 tie with one member missing and that 4th vote needed for it to pass. It comes up for vote again 12/2/10. I just wrote to the 3 members that voted against the wet zoning being continued. All you Florida guys should contact these council members in support of CCB. If you are interested, let me know and I will forward the email to you.

Started a Google Map for points of interest around the meet hotel. See it here.

Gene, you know the hard core HC'ers well. Porn, pawn and bail-bonds :)

Could you add the following POI's for the No Cocktails Cocktail masterclass,

and Cooking with Colin :)

Total Wine & More - Tampa, FL - Google Maps

Whole Foods Market - Tampa - Google Maps

Thanks!

For those outsiders who don't understand the Tampa politics and the "prejudice" at stake: Mons venus is a strip club run by Joe Redner. Redner is infamous for fighting with city council and sometimes making a real pain in the ass of himself, and claiming 1st amendment rights on nudity. Joe Redner Jr. runs CCB, and CCB is located in the building that's housed the offices of Redner Sr's various businesses for years. Oh and Redner Sr runs for public office regularly, and has run against Gwen Miller, one of the representatives who voted against the zoning.

"Strip Club King: The Story of Joe Redner" (80 minute documentary on Youtube. NSFW, lots of nudity.)

What once looked like a nice hole in my schedule is now looking pretty full. It looks as though I may have a slab pour on that Fri. and Sat. If I cannot change that date, I must be here for it.

We need to get some of the head-case muscle to persuade the concrete guys to reschedule the slab pour. It would be a real shame if you're not able to make it. :(

Related: Is there anybody who would be nice enough to split a room to reduce costs? I'm one of the few planning to be there Thursday to Monday, so I'll probably book the room myself.
