In non tree related news, got around to adding some pre-flood storage to the server ...

It's like having my own local cloud :)AIr Video / Server FTW!

Last night, a container of bubblestuff was dumped on my macbook air. Today I took it to apple to see if they can help. They helpfully told me it was entirely filled with bubblestuff, and was irreparable, but I was welcome to send it to the depot, where they'd see if it was repairable. If so, it'd be $755. But that there was almost no chance they'd fix it.

So I've filed a claim on my homeowner's insurance. Hopefully I get a check soon so I can replace it.

That really sucks Dan. Your HOI deductible must be a lot less than ours.

It's $500. So basically, they'll pay for half. But I did pay extra for computer coverage, so if I'm lucky, they'll do it with less deductible, I just have to wait to talk to the adjuster to find out for sure.

Good luck with the adjuster. They seem to vary a lot so I hope you get a nice one!

Man, sorry to hear Dan.

You'd think bubbles and Air would work better together.

Depends on what that "computer coverage" is that you purchased. If you scheduled it should be no problem with $0 deductible. If it is one of a myriad of endorsements out there, who knows? Most homeowners policies will not cover accidental spills to personal property.

Hope you get it fully covered.

I'm sure you've covered this but don't forget to find out what impact paying the claim will have on the premum you pay.

I miss having my daughters decorate the tree.

Damn nice. What hard drives did you use Grahame?

it definitely covers accidental spills. Hopefully it does it with a reduced deductible, but even $750 is better than nothing.

If they let you keep the bubble-abused Air, alcohol has been known to have a varying degree of success. The sooner the better...

Went to my 4 week post-op visit with the PA today. Got cleared for the next level of PT. :prettyprincess: She also told me to stop using the damn crutches! [Guess I am a little too cautious for my own good.]
