Great to hear that you "weathered" the storm Shelly!

Some of that news footage was pretty scary so I'm sure that more than a few of us were thinking of you.

Good to hear everyone made it through. Tornados are one part of the midwest I don't miss.

Me? I bought a boatload of tubes. And some transformers.

The video coming out of Houston is pretty much nuts.  I remember being in Houston for a Hurricane once and I do not remember anything close to that level of flooding.

I think the problem is that we have already had a LOT of rain over the last month or two so the ground was already completely saturated and the bayous were pretty full.  (It wasn't as bad as Tropical Storm Allison which dumped 38.6" of rain in Houston over 6 days.)  I am so sick of rain.

Holy Swimming Pool Batman, that's a shitload of rain!  Stay dry Shelly, good luck!

Please send any and all unwanted rain over here to California. Thanks!

So we decided to buy a house on the water nearby:

Well the offer hasn't been accepted yet but I am guessing we'll get it after some haggling.

No parties until we get the basement finishing done and get more bedrooms. This summer is looking family only for a bit.

Expensive fish!

Good luck!

I've often dreamed of living on a lake.

Wow, cool!

Maybe I'm confused, but I thought you bought a lake house already?  Congrat regardless!

We were one house from the water (across the road). Now we are going to be on the water.

Great stuff Chris, good luck with the process!

Nice Chris. A Peninsula house?

I am waiting to board a flight to Dallas. My third United flight in three days, and every one of them has been at least an hour delayed.

Perhaps fly to a Delta hub and hope you will get reticketed from United to Delta :)

Yeah, I had a great streak there where I was flying home from Atlanta more often on Delta planes than on the United ones I was supposed to be on. It was nice.

Myabe I should try to get a job at Georgia Tech so I can fly Delta instead of United. ;)
