Joanne is having second thoughts on the north facing rooms and is considering something lighter ( or technically a higher LRV) so our friend with taste (she worked professionally with fabrics and has a good eye) suggested "Rich Cream" as a lighter alternative to Desert Tan. A soft beige sweetened with a touch of peach, this neutral brings to mind a decadent crème custard. https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/2153-60/rich-cream Time for another trip to the hardware store for a paint sample and paint up a color board. And don't forget the old chestnut of having a feature wall in a deeper / darker shade so that you can struggle over two colors in one room! Report

The Correct Answer, as always, is: Yes, Dear. Edited January 9Jan 9 by Grahame Report
January 12Jan 12 comment_967044 Todays painter progress Can you tell the difference between the Desert Tan in the South Facing "Primary" bedroom - the previously accepted term is no longer PC, apparently, And the Rich Cream in the north facing bedrooms/planned offices. ? Report

January 21Jan 21 comment_967213 In the last 36(ish) hours I flew out to Denver and back to check in on a friend that had a particularly rough second half of 2025 along with three other friends. When we learned he wasn't going to be able to come out east during the holidays we decided it was time to head west. So yesterday I got up at 4am, drove through the snow to Boston, hung out for 24hrs and flew back this evening. I am, exhausted. Report

January 25Jan 25 comment_967310 Went to a Shiva visit tonight. Facebook friend's father (94 years), I went to HS together with said FB friend's sister-in-law. Found out today that he also went to a Summer camp with my oldest brother. A wonderful celebration of life, and I caught up with my HS friend and her husband, haven't seen them in over 15 years! As much as one doesn't want to catch up with people at a funeral/Shiva, it was a life well-lived, and it was great to re-connect. It will NOT be another 15 years before we see each other again!
