Reds -- energy

Blue -- cool, calm

Purple -- Royalty

Greens and Oranges -- psychoses  🙃

Black -- self-harm, depression, death

And now, testing my memory:

I like how it felt obliged to raise its voice in defense of green and orange, but didn't defend black at all.

Also:  a more serious -- albeit Joan Rivers, fashionista -- take on colours for 2026:

Interesting, I like my shirts blue, the darker the better :D I always knew I’m a psycho.

But wait. There's more!

Joanne is having second thoughts on the north facing rooms and is considering something lighter ( or technically  a higher LRV)  so our friend with taste (she worked professionally with fabrics and has a good eye) suggested "Rich Cream" as a lighter alternative to Desert Tan.

A soft beige sweetened with a touch of peach, this neutral brings to mind a decadent crème custard.

Time for another trip to the hardware store for a paint sample and paint up a color board.

And don't forget the old chestnut of having a feature wall in a deeper / darker shade so that you can struggle over two colors in one room!

Or at least multiple references...

OK long it is,

But Rich Cream?

Or Desert Tan?

The Correct Answer, as always, is:

Yes, Dear.

Can you tell the difference between the Desert Tan in the South Facing "Primary" bedroom - the previously accepted term is no longer PC, apparently,

And the Rich Cream in the north facing bedrooms/planned offices. ?

For the big move tomorrow.

The accent wall is on hold, for now.

And after all that headed down to Burlingame to catch up with Joannes tall Australian nephew to hear all about his project work for Nvidia before catching the red eye back to New York.

He very kindly gave us his'n'hers house warming gifts from Joannes sisters and himself.

They say that moving is a major life stressor.

I can believe it.

It's almost like I feel a year older!

Time for bed!

Spent the weekend my Father and friends' cabin without the phone and any electric device beside a the lamp. Got cold. Not my cup of tea tbh. At least not in winter.

In the last 36(ish) hours I flew out to Denver and back to check in on a friend that had a particularly rough second half of 2025 along with three other friends.  When we learned he wasn't going to be able to come out east during the holidays we decided it was time to head west.  So yesterday I got up at 4am, drove through the snow to Boston, hung out for 24hrs and flew back this evening.  I am, exhausted.

I wish there were a travel team. But Red Oxx isn't a true prerequisite if you can kickstart it back into being.

Went to a Shiva visit tonight.  Facebook friend's father (94 years), I went to HS together with said FB friend's sister-in-law.  Found out today that he also went to a Summer camp with my oldest brother.

A wonderful celebration of life, and I caught up with my HS friend and her husband, haven't seen them in over 15 years!

As much as one doesn't want to catch up with people at a funeral/Shiva, it was a life well-lived, and it was great to re-connect.  It will NOT be another 15 years before we see each other again!
