What are you Grilling now?

It was 10,800 new and the clearance price was 8500 and they offered me another 20% off.  It is last years model that does not have the full pull out in the cabinet, it just has the pull down door on the top.  It was really over the top and felt like I could park my SUV on top of it.

  • I did sous vide picanha for the first time today. A simple rub of spices, smoked salt and olive oil, then cooked in the bath at 133F for 6 hours. The 'grill' part comes from very briefly finishing on

Having an infrared side burner on the grill is pretty fucking awesome. Thanks for the tip Marc. Indirect heat @225F for 30 minutes and then a 30 second sear per side on the infrared burner.

  • Smoked chuck roast. Much better than I expected. And a great excuse to use plenty of horseradish cream sauce.

OK I'm notoriously not that price sensitive but, yeah, that's nuts.

I'm sensing the title "Very Tippy Genius" has had it's day!

First attempt at a brisket. 11 hour cook (3 hours in magic pink paper), 5 hours of rest in the cooler. Not perfect but pretty damn tasty!

Not much as the grills were wrapped up just as it started pouring rain. Fucking Al Gore and his ManBearPig.

A little searing action for the Costco ribeye caps.

Just finished eating a couple of Sirloins done on the Weber. Did a simple salt, pepper and garlic rub and then a Rosemary butter baste using Rosemary sprigs to do the basting. More importantly, this was the initial run for my new MEATER Block.

True wireless meat probes with a nice phone app. I was cooking these to a non HC medium rare (15 year old taste buds) and it came out absolutely perfect. No guess work. Very pleased. I did have to wait a fucking Long time as it was bought on Kickstarter. They have a web site now so you should not have to wait a year and a half for yours.

Bought some steaks the other day. NY Strip and Ribeye. Cooked one of each tonight the Serious Eats way (cool side of grill covered, finish on hot.)

Not bad. May try sous-vide with a grill finish for the others.

Was the pizza dough store bought or home made?  All the recipes I have tried so far turned out nothing like that, looks tasty!

I am lazy, Trader Joe’s pizza dough with garlic and herbs.  It was quite good.

Pizza dough is tricky!

Jeff, you should check out Roccbox or Uuni pizza ovens.  Do a great job with Neopolitan style pizza.  Definitely make your own dough. Some very simple recipes for this style of pizza.

We looked at those. The neighborhood party had 5 of those set up for pizza and it was awesome.

I really want a huge pizza oven, mostly for the aesthetics, but wanted to try it out cheap on the BGE first before dumping 15-20k into a pizza oven.
