Well, if you haven't it sucks. I spent the last day and half in a hospital due to a severe case of it. I got discharged today and it is a whole lot better but not 100% yet. At least the scans of my brain showed nothing unusual, so they think it's just something viral.

Basically, the oldest/most famous Japanese rock band X Japan (or X) that has ever existed had reunited on 10/22/07. The leader of the band has organized it so that overseas fans can buy a "package" with the plane ticket, hotel booked, everything set, or enter a lottery where random selected winners will be allowed to buy tickets. I've been listening to these guys for a long time and this is a perfect oppotunity since it is during Spring Break. When I started to register the form... I am talking about a band performing in Tokyo Dome 3 days in a row.. with 50,000 fans per day and a great deal. All I need to pay is around $1500USD for a package with a booked hotel, round…

First off, this isn't a sour-grapes thing - I'm married. Valentine's day is a completely moronic "special" day. Isn't love supposed to be sincere, spontaneous, and distinctly expressed between the couple in love? How do $60 roses and a contrived card really express any kind of true feelings? Anyway, maybe I'm really just annoyed because I have to stop at the drugstore on the way home to buy a card.

Is it just me or is this cereal king of them all? I mean, nothing hits the spot at 2am like an XL bowl of cornflakes (not that frosted kind either). I'm pretty serious about cereal and honestly nothing out there has been able to surpass the simple, yet complex, taste of a bowl of cornflakes done properly.

Happy birthday Stephen my friend! I hope you rape and pillage well in your dreams tonight and wake up refreshed for your big day. I think we discussed at MOA last week -- or whenever the hell that was -- that the 13th is also my son's birthday. We'll be back in Mayberry for a little party, but I don't think there will be nearly as many kegs... I hope yours is fab and that you need to be hooked up to the M*A*S*H IV all over again. Cheers!

I've been watching this cat for what started out as a couple weeks, has evolved into several months, and I have now taken ownership. I've known her on and off through the years, but am only now taking full responsibility for her.

Ok so last night I was whistling along with a tune and I noticed a strange sound...like a clashing harmony. I figured I was off or something, whistled the wrong the note. Then I whistled the song again just by myself and I heard the same weird clash. So after some more whistling and so forth I determined that I was actually hearing a fixed pitch on top of what I was whistling. In short if I whistle one pitch, I hear two, the pitch I'm whistling and another fixed pitch. I can change the pitch I'm whistling and the fixed pitch remains, well fixed even when I move the whistled pitch quickly. It's pretty strong too (the fixed pitch, I can hear it very clearly.) My wife…

Hello Everybody, My name is George. I have been lurking here for a few months, and have finally decided to join at the suggestion of Guzziguy (Ken). Guzziguy, Fungi, and I live in the same town and have had a few local meets. I have been a HF member for 2-3 years, but I am tired of the same inane debates and fanboys. There is just way too much noise for any real info. A bit of personal info about me: -32 y.o. -PhD in applied physics -Cancer+chemotherapy survivor -Father to a 1.1 y.o. daughter Being a scientific-type, I am allergic to audio snake-oil and psychoacoustic phenomena (e.g. "my tomahawk sounded good at 159 hours but at 713 hours it sounded soooo …
