Meets

I'm thinking of having a meet the weekend of March 7, 2009. Location is not determined but likely will be at one of the hotels in the Plantation area. This isn't definite. I will decide whether to go with it after I see how much interest there is. I do not anticipate any vendors in attendance with CJ '09 two or so months later and that it will likely be a small meet.

It's been awhile, SoFla meet? - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio

I just saw Tyll mention this on FB. Remarkably, it looks as if I'll be in the area with my family. My wife will be working and I'll be hanging out with the kids, who probably will make me suffer if I try to take them to a trade show. I'd love to get together for extracurricular activities though. Anyone else planning to be there?

Ive attended two of these and to my ears this is the best of the CanJams for listening experience. I was going to go to the show in China but given the current political climate, I think I'll pass this go round. So London is the next best thing for me. Much quieter show than LA or NY, not as social though. Great beer trip 15 minutes walk (Bermondsey beer mile). Any way any takers? First beer on the mile is on me.

I posted an interest check on the other site for a Montreal mini-meet, but I thought it might be a good idea to ask people on the Dark Side too. No details on the "when" and the "where" for the moment, just a quick look to see who would be interested. I'm not even sure if there are Montrealers here.

My family and I are heading to Minneapolis-St. Paul for a concert on April 6, and staying for a few days. I don't know if any of the regulars here are from the Twin Cities, but if anyone wants to grab a beer, let me know.

I was curious if anyone here is from New Orleans. I am guessing not, but who knows. I am hoping to put a local meet together sometime. I am not sure when, but my guess is that it will not be for at least a few months. If you are from the area, come say hello.

Anyone on here near Charlotte, NC? Anyone be interested in a meet and greet at my house to demo the new PS Audio Perfect Wave system AND Esoteric SA-50? Seattle Spring meet: 3.22.08!!! I like the numerology of it (3*2) +2=8. The next two meets should be doozies. Spring will begin our push to get more vendor participation, and at least one summer meet will be hosted by Gil who is donating his garage space and two-barrel barbecue. So March...June...September...December...and maybe more. Last weekend's mini meet was a lot of fun, but I hope in the future we can have mini meets as well as "last minute" meets so that everyone can participate. well its not much like the usual meets posted in these boards but oz of let there be sound sent me an email inviting me to a local audiophile's home as he has graciously agreed to let people just walk in and audition his genesis speakers in some uber professionally treated room. also, the president of genesis speakers shall also be there at his house. oz included his cell phone number in case any of you would like to go or have any other questions. i plan on attending sometime after 2pm on sunday so if any fellow headfiers would like to go, pm me and we can meet up somewhere or just head over to the given address. sorry for the late post, but i just got to know about this…

As in the title, just announcing for the beer folks that Cigar City's big yearly release event is March 12th at the brewery. Noon to Midnight, and there will be tons of great beer on tap, as well as food and music.

Audio Expo North America - AXPONA: Home Page For the uninitiated, see the link above for info on Axpona. It's pretty much an audio show that Stereophile is sponsoring in the Jacksonville area. Axpona was actually advertised at RMAF '09 and a couple weeks ago I finally booked my flight. This time I fully intend on doing some touristy stuff in Florida, since I didn't get to do anything touristy the last two times I was there. I take it March should be a good time of year for that? So will anyone else also be there? Anyone know if we could convince these guys to do a headphone display room?

Post away with impressions and pics. As usual, for me, it was more about the folks than the gear. But I did accomplish what I set out to do re gear: compare the O2 mk2 to the O2 mk1. Great to see friends old and new.

Just throwing out there that I plan on being there on Saturday April 14 and would love to hang with anyone. Looking forward to spending way too much money in the new “record shop” as my two primary online vinyl places - acoustic sounds and elusive disc - will be there. I’ll plan on stopping by those manufacturers of gear I own just to say hi and chew the fat a little bit (emotiva, wyred4sound), and even though I don’t have a uturn table anymore, I’d love to just say hi to uturn audio.
