If we go with assembled GRHVxxx boards, I like to leave the 4 resistors used to set the output voltage blank so builders can configure their desired output voltage, These resistors are 1206 parts and fairly easy to solder.

I did the flip 🙂 the small signal tubes are at the front but the labels on the pcbs for left and right and now wrong 🙃 I have the input wires going straight from the back to the tkd pot in the middle of the front panel and then nice short wires from the tkd to the boards inputs... heater wires route around the edge of the pcb close to the heatsinks. So far with the volume all the way up zero listenable hum.

Interesting … Enjoy it. I have finished soldering almost all the components of my T2 mini and I only need a few details to be able to hear it. I think we all expect a T2 with current production components ... although I think the T2 mini will do quite well. Joachim has done a very interesting job with this amplifier. Thinking in T2 mini, a TH version would be welcomed by many people. PD: I have left my eyes with the f**** HN4A51J/HN4C51J

There have been articles suggestion just that...the HC motor will end up in the Durango. The SRT version sold well. I loved my Jeep SRT. If someone didn't hit it while my poor wife was driving it home after picking her father up from hospital (she was A-OK), I'd probably still have it. I wanted the TH so it was only a matter of time, but I was trying to hold out. Jeep only had 26k miles on it after 4 years. Great commute I have...with purpose. To be frank, the technology in all the HC based vehicles (and most MOPARs) is old as hell. No reason the block should not be aluminum...along with several suspension components. But...they love the V8 (as do I) and they throw power at them to overcome weight. They are roomy and I can modify them relatively easily to extract a good bit of incremental power (calibration stuff is a bit of a nightmare but I have a good man I've worked with since 2010). So I buy them. And...the Scandinavian cow, carbon fiber and Harman Kardon stereo in my TH are yummy. I'm old and high maintenance I figure. Apparently I also love depreciating assets... HS

Great straight line car. Not so much for turning....LOL. The suspension was like an old brass bed. I was getting ready to modify it when it occurred to me that it is a perfectly well engineered vehicle to do exactly what it is supposed to do...run 1320 ft in a straight line. They are not that common....why mess with it so I sold mine. Wasn’t difficult, especially with the black and Demonic red leather interior. I’m now modifying a perfectly fine Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (hellcat based motor). Why not mess with one’s DD...LOL HS

Not sure where to put this, so it is going here. My wife is the CEO of the charity Brendoncare Foundation, which owns and runs residential care homes throughout the South of England. One of people in their care, Bob Weightman, is now the world's oldest man. He will be 112 on 29th March. He lives in his own flat, and carers pop in twice a day just to check he is OK. Thanks everyone! Had a day that involved a walk with Carole over what passes for paths in the UK at the moment (miles of extreme mud and standing water). A pair of Carbon boards complete other than JFETs. I used Soren's pre-adjustment method on the CCS's. They all came up at 15mA initially; adjusted them to 17mA for a start. I still need to clean the boards more. These are the .6G boards and appear to have a ground plane (haven't looked at the gerbers), so all resistors, etc. are up off the board. If any of you Stax mafia dudes see anything amiss, please let me know. I was careful building these... Also, I got some pluggable connectors, Hirose DF5A (DF5A-5P-5DSA(35), DF5A-5S-5C) which are 500Vdc rated, and would fit just fine. They have one small nub or pin on the bottom, but it looks like you could either cut it off, or drill a small hole in the PCB for it.

^ I guess they are catering to the bi-measurement-system-curious. This is Marin, after all. What do you think gave you "Freedom Units"? The Imperial System, that's what. Do you think the UK went to all the trouble of Brexit, just to use the metric system, thanks to that little upstart Napoleon. I think not!

Table updated! Also, some progress updates: I tested the timer, relay and LV sections on the Main Board and they all work as designed. I am very close to sending final boards to fab house for quotes. With some luck with remaining tests, it may happen this week. With that in mind, a few things we need to all think about and decide. Please share your thoughts on this thread: 1. A reminder - the GRHVxxx and GRLV boards will not work by themselves as stand alone regulators. The rectifiers, filter caps, current limit circuit for HV are on the Main Board. 2. You can use 78xx/79xx regulators to replace GRLV boards if so desired. In fact, that's how I tested the Main Board. 3. The default timer setup on the main board is about 45 seconds. You can change a couple parts to adjust. The timer and relay circuits are both optional and can also be replaced with external modules. 4. R7, 8, 9, 10 on the GRHVxxx board set the regulated output voltage. A couple of items to think about and decide: 1. We should consider, as I have mentioned before, if to have the GRHVxxx board either fully or partially assembled. I hand-soldered all the SMD parts on the main board. It's manageable. The GRHVxxx is another matter - it's small and operates on very high voltage. Soldering the HN4A51J part alone is no bargain. 2. This GB has dragged on for some time. If you have changed your mind about the item quantities, etc., please post them here and I will update the table. We need final counts to get quotes. More update to follow!

Went for a walk in the rolling hills outside Novato with Joanne and some Brit's. I think some biscuit induced climate change made it somewhat breezier than we were anticipating. Later we went to Costco where the shelves seemed to be picked almost clean. I made it out with one of the last 4 slabs of Diet Coke. They were sold out of rice. Bought 18 pounds of tri tip at Costco this morning and currently preparing a dry rub for half of them. We are hosting the Hong Kong national team, French and Italian coaches and a Russian with a So Cal BBQ tomorrow. The fencers and coaches are here training for the Anaheim World cup in two weeks so they will be at the club and training with Lance a bit . Weather seems not to be cooperating for tomorrow as intermittent rain and winds of 30 plus mph are in the forecast. My plan as usual is to drink lots of Brunello and figure it out as I go. At least we don't have Jose's sandstorm to deal with so life is good.

In the UK it is still stiff upper lip. We were in London yesterday (at the National Theatre on the South Bank). No sign of anyone in face masks, crowded tube, no panic buying, supermarket shelves fully stocked. But will we be flying anywhere on vacation this year? No chance. And from what the airline companies are saying, we are not the only one by a long shot. And climate change? We have had a conveyor belt of storms coming in from the Atlantic for the last three weeks. Whole slabs of the UK are flooded with towns and cities essentially underwater. We're OK, by the way - we are well above the Thames flood plain.

All weekend without being able to leave home ... fucked in the dust
