October 29, 201213 yr No power outage here. Wind shaking small branches off trees. Rain is a comin' down. Lean my head and give a yell. Give me a string bean I'm a hungry man.
October 29, 201213 yr we've had 2 10 minute outages since hte power came back on. I expect to lose it for 12+ hrs at some point over the next couple of days. The eye of the storm is currently tracking to spend 6 hrs near us.
October 29, 201213 yr That sounds damn awful. Thanks for the updates. Take care and stay safe, don't go out to pick up anything else.
October 29, 201213 yr Two of my flights already cancelled for this week. Hoping the Friday flight is not cancelled as it is the only one I actually wanted to take. Not much going on here but I am really hoping the pond in my backyard does not overflow into my walk out basement. Tried to go to Home Depot yesterday and it was a nightmare with nothing worthwhile left in the store so I went to Dick's and bought ammo. Storm Supplies: 1,000 rounds of .45 1,000 rounds of .223 200 rounds of .357 Magnum 8 Hot Dogs (All that was freaking left) 8 D Batteries (All that was left) I am ready for the Zombies if they come. You're gonna have to eat the zombies when the hot dogs are all gone...
October 29, 201213 yr I'm hungry. I bought a lot of "power out" provisions, but didn't get any frozen dinners or anything.8 Hot Dogs (All that was freaking left)Damn, that sucks, dude....bought ammo... Storm Supplies: 1,000 rounds of .45 1,000 rounds of .223 200 rounds of .357 MagnumWell, you could always shoot something.
October 29, 201213 yr Power just came back on after 4+ without. Like Tom and Dan I expect more of the same for the next few days.
October 29, 201213 yr This is kicking up bad memories of hurricane days down here. Stay safe, peoples.
October 29, 201213 yr Looks like the HMS Bounty sank. Also the wind is getting white. Be careful everyone.
October 29, 201213 yr As mentioned in the last two posts, up to date info at: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/10/28/nyregion/hurricane-sandy.html
October 30, 201213 yr at my parents house. heard a monstrous cracking sound out back. my dad went out with a flashlight and said a 'huge' piece of tree is in our back yard. really glad it didnt hit the house. i will probably go check out my house tomorrow or wednesday, hoping my giant oak survived, its the favorite part of my yard.
October 30, 201213 yr Supposedly this was taken on the lower east side of Manhattan. Source is George Takei's FB page, of all places.
October 30, 201213 yr Also: #instacane: the story of hurricane sandy told through instagram, in case there were any doubts left about the information age driving us all insane.
October 30, 201213 yr I just had a visit from a giant electrical truck. If I'm not mistaken, my next door neighbor and the people across the street both lost power, probably due to something that happened in my yard. In spite of this my electricity stayed on. If my neighbors didn't hate me before, they sure do now.
October 30, 201213 yr Our NYC and DC offices were closed today, but I just got notice that the power is completely out in the NY office building and our battery backups are exhausted so certain servers are unavailable. This shit just got real all the way out here in SF!
October 30, 201213 yr My bro & his family are fine & watching Monday Night Football in Jersey City...He says the lights have flickered a couple times...

October 30, 201213 yr Power out below 39th Street, except somehow Battery Park City. It looks like from what I can tell so far that the water is sweeping through BPC (not good) to even lower areas internally. Somehow that may be advantageous to my building. We'll see. Upper East Side unaffected. Caviar is fine.

The redundancy department of redundancy wrote our contingency plan. It was only a few NYC drives, but I was exaggerating for effect.

October 30, 201213 yr Just watched CNN footage of Manhattan. Looks crazy out there! Be safe you guys!
October 30, 201213 yr Just got an email from our PA office. All our computers and phones are hooked up through PA, so if the power goes out there, we've got nothing here, confirming, as I thought when that the powers in the mothership made that happen, what a fucking stupid idea.
October 30, 201213 yr Watching the weather channel on youtube. Just saw my pics old neighborhood (14th and C; I lived on 13th and B and then on B between 9th and 10th)with the cars under water. Damn.
