Though I don't believe in heaven, it's nice to think you might be with Gilda again.

RIP Gene.

RIP Gene.

A simple memory, but when I was 8 or 9 my sister and I put on Willy Wonka while helping my dad unload Christmas decorations from the shed. It was pretty early to do so, before Thanksgiving even, but still cold and dreary outside. So every time I brought a load into the house, I sat down for 5 minutes to check in on the movie... and I remember feeling so utterly comfortable, warm, and safe. And I think about that every time I've seen that movie since. So thanks to Gene for playing a part in that.

Also Blazing Saddles is the funniest film I have ever seen. Another favorite in my family.

RIP, Da Fino, or should I say Brother Seamus? You know, he was a Dick, a Private Detective? He's the 4th Big Lebowski actor that I know of who has died within the past year or two. There was also the well known pornographer Jackie Treehorn (Ben Gazzara), The Big Lebowski himself (David Huddleston), and of course Brandt (Phillip Seymour Hoffman).

RIP John.

Loved his portrayal of Albert Finny's rival boss in Miller's Crossing. One of my all time favorite mob movies!

Mr. Norbert Schemansky. You sound like you were the man.

"What Muhammad Ali and Joe Louis are to boxing, what John Grimek and Arnold Schwarzenegger mean to bodybuilding, and what Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky represent in hockey, Norbert Schemansky is to Olympic weight lifting."

Seems like I'm just catching up. Gene Wilder - jeeze. I guess that is the problem with film - the younger self is recorded for all time, as the actor gets older. That must be one of the hardest things, to see films of yourself as a young person when you are old.  So sad he went from Alzheimers.  And so many great movies - Blazing Saddles particularly sticks in my mind.  The clip of Young Frankenstein also has the incredible and long RIP Marty Feldman (1934 to 1982), a genius of comic writing and timing.

My poor cat, Sushi wasn't feeling well last night so I took her in to the vet this morning. He said her kidneys had failed and that it was her time.

Sushi made it to just two weeks shy of her 19th birthday. I am very sad, but she had a good, long life. She was a very good pet to me and my family.

RIP, Sushi.

RIP Sushi!

Sorry to hear but that is a good long life.

My cat had the same issues and passed last year.

I hope there's a great cat heaven with empty boxes and catnip mice everywhere.

Sorry about Sushi. Effie will get extra hugs and scratches in Sushi's honor tonight.
