A Toro zero turn lawn mower. Should be a fun gadget. This one.

It will replace my much less expensive Sear's Craftsman rider which I had a bit of trouble with. Were I mechanically inclined, I'm sure I could get many more years out of it, but I decided to sell it to a lawn service company and cut my losses. Kept throwing the belt off and I had trouble starting it at times. Then when it was running well, I'd bang into something and bust the part that the blades are attached to.

I'm hoping the Toro will be as indestructible as the reviews suggest it is.

I take it it's been tested in reverse through chain link fences. :)

I'll have to give that a try! My neighbors will all be excited when they come home to see their yards have been cut. At least if it's anything like when I bought my first rider and had so much fun with it that I couldn't stop cutting until it ran out of gas. This should be even more exciting because you operate it with joysticks instead of a steering wheel.

Why can't you? Allergies?
Indirectly -- the meds I take to combat allergy symptoms make drinking high-alcohol content anything a challenge (the comparison I heard, and it seems to be accurate, is that for every beer I have, it's like having four...actually, once I built up my resistance, it's more like two, but I really don't like the idea of getting hammered every night, so I only drink enough quantity and at a speed to give me a light buzz) -- I had to work my way up to 11% beer, and 15 or 18% is just out of the question. 7-9% is my sweet spot. Good thing it's a good time to be a craft beer lover.

Well played, sir. The Vine Hill is my favorite. And there's a case of Pinot sitting in my dad's cellar for me. Let's compare notes.

Deal. I have some older Chardonnays and one Pinot left but I have no idea what vineyards they are so I will have to check when the weather gets a little warmer. The Pinots are drinking pretty spectacular now so you might want to pop one on your next visit. :) Given what you just posted perhaps I should look around in my locker to see if I can dig up a Vine Hill, if I find one I will let you know what I think.

Good luck on the spinning classes, a great way to get a bike work out without dodging cabs and bike messengers.

Kick it up a notch! Enjoy them Vicki.

Yesterday, I bought AppleCare for a new 27" iMac that I received for free because my 2.5 year 24" iMac was in for the third time for repair in the last 2 weeks. Pretty sweet to get a new computer and then get insurance covering it for 3 more years! All's well that ends well, I guess.

Congrats Al.

Vicki the A5s are quite the jump from the A2s, no?

Lenovo Y560 Notebook.

It has optical out, gonna see how it fares as a music server.

Every laptop should have a TOSlink. I'd probably have a MBA if it did. Hope it works out for you.

did you have to contact a VP to get a replacement? i've had to do that a few times :-\

No, but the phone support was escalated to a specialist or some such who thought that I should go in for one more repair effort. I then helped to convince the Genius that it was a lost cause and how much of a hassle I had been through.

Congrats Al.

Thanks. B)

Ah sweet Al!

That'll be my next computer as well. Luckily my buddy Shaun (that you met) can get me 40% off.

In my experience, a lot of those Geniuses are lost causes. Thankfully, most of them are open to suggestion and Apple seems to have a culture that supports their decisions when it comes to going the extra mile for customer service. They very commonly honor products that are ever so slightly out of warranty and replace parts that aren't technically covered, etc.

Nice :)

I'll find out. I'm hoping so, and will get them next week. I wasn't really a fan of the A2s, but as I'd already bought them, and I have to play things quietly at work, I just let it be. My A2s were killed by a former patient last week (accident while moving them), and since then I've been subjected to the horrors of a pop XM radio station on a loop outside my office door all day long. One more week of this, and I'll need the A5s just to keep me from killing people.
