January 9, 200917 yr The box in the video looks identical to the standard 600/650 box with a nicer cover and nice lining inside.
January 9, 200917 yr Yeah the box will likely go in my attic for me. Where can I get one of those nice lucite headphone stands?
January 9, 200917 yr Where can I get one of those nice lucite headphone stands? Ban him! Ban him now!
January 9, 200917 yr I tried looking for a lucite head and came across these really cool headphone hangers... Stick it to a wall and it'd be perfect
January 9, 200917 yr They probably have ones that have suction cups on the bottom already. But you'd need a really smooth wall. Like a window, perhaps. Or a mirror, if you don't want your neighbors to see your...headphones.
January 10, 200917 yr it would be a good place to store your stash, amirite? yeah you can totally put your weed in there.
January 10, 200917 yr Yeah the box will likely go in my attic for me. Where can I get one of those nice lucite headphone stands? We use wood headphone stands 'round these parts, ya hear?
January 10, 200917 yr Nice I hope the box is on par with AT's. The HE90 box had a pretty exterior but the interior was ghetto as hell.
January 10, 200917 yr After I move out in a month or two (knock on wood) I think I'm going to commission someone to build me a headphone stand like this one. I particularly like the base, I may go for wood dowels or something for the poles, instead of anything synthetic. I guess I could try to build it myself,
January 10, 200917 yr I'm waiting for Edwood's typically brutal and frank sonic assessment. At this point, it's hard to believe anything that the hypesters are spitting out about these cans.

January 10, 200917 yr Ha I didn't know Edwood was known for such assessments. I'll have to check it out and/or some past reviews.

Which hypersters are you referring to? The only people that have posted have been Tyll and Jude primarly. Are you implying that their impressions aren't objective first impressions of what they are hearing? Bostonears did post his impressions which actually were somewhat even keeled. From reading his post it appears he finds the 650 and 800 to actually be somewhat similar sounding. However his listening experience is colored by his own, apparent limited background in hifi so it seems. I would understand your statement if these were in the hands of a whole bunch of newbs, but Tyll and Jude shouldn't be associated with that group. From the very limited information that we have so far, the hd800 sounds like it is faster and more impactful than the hd650 but probably has a similar tonality (this is evident by bostonears impressions, and IMO most beginning/lower level listeners have an easier time describing and hearing the overall balance and tonality of cans).
January 10, 200917 yr Aww heck, here's a good spot for this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPGtnbcsutQ
January 10, 200917 yr Look much better on the head than off it, not that you can see while you're wearing them. Don't suppsoe you filmed footage of the driver in action? In related news, the recent HD800 strain has made head-fi bump its new search timer from 30 to 45 seconds.
