June 16, 201214 yr Spent a good part of the day standing in line at Comcast to replace our faulty set top box and then on the phone with them when the box wouldn't activate. Sigh. Maybe it is time to get rid of cable.

June 17, 201214 yr As posted elsewhere, we dumped Comcast TV today for Dish Network. So far the HD looks better to me and the whole house DVR is excellent. But yes, had to keep Comcast internet as nothing in our area competes. It's a shame as I'd love to dump Comcast completely.
June 17, 201214 yr Speaking of Comcast, they've been pretty aggressive in trying to get back the customers they lost in my town when FiOS became available almost two years ago, including myself. They've stopped by multiple times with special offers. The latest offer was $90/month for cable (HD; HBO and Showtime included) with DVR, internet, landline, $300 credit, and no contract.
