January 13, 201511 yr What a find, Wayne. Great story, too. That cold, wet drive across the alley sounds like no fun at all.
January 14, 201511 yr It wasn't today strictly speaking, but I injured my wrist wrestling firewood. It hurts to type, drive (stick shift) most other tasks.
January 14, 201511 yr as long as it was only one wrist Edit: urban dictionary lacks definition of "wrestling firewood" Edited January 14, 201511 yr by Grahame
January 15, 201511 yr ... I injured my wrist wrestling firewood. It hurts to type, drive (stick shift) most other tasks. Well as the nuns at my grammar school used to say, "a wrist injury is God's way of keeping you from doing naughty things at night".
January 15, 201511 yr Took the left wing mirror clean off the car. Tiny fucking English village roads 1 -- Huge fucking German SUV 0. Ja?
January 15, 201511 yr Took the left wing mirror clean off the car. I expect the replacement Precision German Engineering is reassuringly expensive, Nicht Wahr?
January 16, 201511 yr Staying home sick again with what is looking increasingly like an actual flu (seeing a doctor today). Between this and my kids being sick, I've gone into work once this week.
January 16, 201511 yr Ouch, sorry to hear Haj....hard the stat that the current flu shot may be only 23% effective, so I think a lot of people may be hit hard this winter. Rest well, hope you (all) get better soon
January 17, 201511 yr Staying home sick again with what is looking increasingly like an actual flu (seeing a doctor today). Between this and my kids being sick, I've gone into work once this week. Most likely a strep throat, at least according to my doctor. Put me on antibiotics and feeling a better today. EDIT - Looks like my phone cut off half of what I actually typed. January 17, 201511 yr Horrible, sorry! Yeah, I got the shot in November and got the flu in December. Awful stuff. For us, just completed the first half of 48 straight hours of kid sleepovers. Just finished the girl one. The boys should arrive in an hour. Help me! Edited January 17, 201511 yr by jvlgato
January 17, 201511 yr Took down all the Christmas decorations. A week later than planned but last weekend was lost to trying to buy a house. Photographer is coming on Tuesday to take pictures and first open house is in 8 days. I'm going to miss this house but the new one is going to be great for us I also took apart and fixed the dryer of our stacked washer/dryer after some jagbag from Sears told me that they didn't lubricate anything but just replace things. I'm pretty happy that I got it all fixed myself though I did drop some parts and have to use some of the old parts. In the end it works great.
January 18, 201511 yr Good work Chris. We took down our Mayberry Xmas tree and other decorations today too. The essentially extraneous SF tree came down last weekend.
January 18, 201511 yr Well I read on the internet that I have until July 1 to take down our Christmas decorations before we are considered white trash.
January 18, 201511 yr Well I read on the internet that I have until July 1 to take down our Christmas decorations before we are considered white trash. At that point, you are celebrating "Christmas in July." Problem solved. **BRENT**
January 18, 201511 yr I put our lights on the porch 3 winters ago. But I haven't turned them on in 2 years.
January 18, 201511 yr I installed French bistro style lights on our back deck when we moved in thinking we would have adults over at night for fondue or some shit every now and then. Then I remembered we had 5 small kids. We are tired and nobody comes over for that On the plus side, I am loving my new(ish) D800. Much better low light shots, and I learned how to back button focus in conjunction with the AF-C setting (while disabling the half press shutter focus). Why in the hell did I not learn to do do this before? What a difference it makes with kids. Oh, and I am salivating over that new 20mm 1.8 lens. That's hot shit, right there. January 18, 201511 yr Almost walked away from the house purchase but our Realtors stepped in and covered half the price of a new furnace though the damn sellers and their Realtor didn't budge an inch.
January 18, 201511 yr It always amazed me when it came down to final negotiating stages how little money would cause this to happen...
January 18, 201511 yr Yeah I know. I fully admit that it was a small % but we are very tired of the sellers tight-fisted bullshit.
