I'm really enjoying hearing the Chronicles of narnia ( The Chronicles of Narnia: Amazon.ca: Tyndale Publishers: Books ) and am hoping for some suggestions of similar audiobooks with original orchestral scores and "cinema-quality digital sound design" (ie. produced on the level of a good movie rather than a stage play or solo narration). reading text in a book isn't an option the stage play and narration style audiobooks don't retain my attention, this movie style presentation is proving great (I'm now 4 books in ).

For my 1000 post I thought I start something off. I didn't see a thread which had what places peeps here like to eat in their area and why. I work in downtown Honolulu, and for those not familiar with downtown Honolulu, it has a lot of places to eat. So far, for me, it's Ultraviolet -- most of y'all are going to hate it, but those who will admit to themselves that they enjoy watching a heroine kick some serious ass -- with guns, bullets and looks -- this is for you. Highly stylized looks (it appears that 29 out of every 30 frames have been airbrushed)...terrible CGI (I think Tron was better) -- but again, I think this was on purpose, since it's so consistent -- made to look like a comic book, perhaps?...total over-the-top violence (bullet-dodging)...Milla's naked butt...what's not to like? If you liked films like Equilibrium or Brotherhood of the Wolf, recommended.

So what was your favourite movie of 2005? A couple of mine: Batman Begins Constantine Howl's Moving Castle Mirrormask Sin City Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit ...can't think of any others, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some... I would have said: Appleseed, Steamboy, and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, but those are all 2004.

I notinced the weirdest thing tonight, I'd just been listening to something directly from the Gamma 1 DAC and the music ended and I was typing a message when I got a hum in one ear. It was coming in and out as the cat was passing over the wire. I called the cat back over and was able to get the phones to hum as I stroked or went near the cat! It's very odd, anyone else ever had this happen? PC > Gamma Dac > Yammy HP-1 > cat (himalayan) don't know if hum is species specific or not.

Hi guys, I've seen plenty of pretty headphone stands out there, but could never convince myself to pay over $50 for the ones I really liked. Well, that changed today as I came across these. Very simple, clean, elegant design. As much as I love the wooden ones, most of my gear is black or silver, and given that my furniture has followed that pattern, I wanted something to match. So I was really bored at work, and decided to look at some optical illusions, and found ways to see (or not see I suppose) where your blind spot is. Its fun! Just close one eye, focus on the dot or the cross, and move your head closer to the screen and eventually the dot (or the cross depending on what you originally focused on) will disappear! Oh and if you want it to work you have to look at the left object with your left eye closed or the right object with your right eye closed. This one below is cool because it shows how your brain is remarkably good at filling in missing information.

I sort of just finished it. Got tired of my old one and got really tired of all the scrolling so started working on a new one. What do you think? Is it better than the previous one? I'm still going to work on it to personalize it a little more as it's a little stiff for me but it's nice to hear some opinions on the usage / interface and the like. Trying to get a definitive answer to settle an argument. When I strip down my guns for cleaning the last thing I usually do is take a clean patch, put a little oil on it and run it down the bore. Have done this all of my life. A friend of mine said (and he's only gotten into shooting in the last year) that having a coat of oil in the barrel is a bad idea. Anyone have an opinion on this? I would find it hard to believe it would be an issue... let alone I imagine after the first shot quite a bit of it is burned off. Is there some newfangled thought process I haven't heard of? Probably a good question for Old Pa.

I just noticed this. As I am a keyboard shortcut kinda guy, I always take full advantage of the "alt + S" to submit a post. In FF2, however, this is now the shortcut for the History menu. Is it just me that this is going to affect? Let us rise up, and make FF2 fix the woeful problem, so I don't have to use my bloody mouse... or use another 2 key combination such as "Tab/Space or Tab/Enter"... tis just not the same. **BRENT**

Recently got a Fitbit Flex from Julie and it has been alarming as to how sedentary my lifestyle had become. Was barely doing 1500 steps most of which came from walking to and from the library. I just had to re-install windows after a harddrive failure (thank christ I had my music backed up on another drive). I really don't want to set foobar up again.
