For the past 5 years I've been using an ISP who provides DSL service. Connection and performance has always been spotty, but tolerable. Lately it has become intolerable. Last night I was able to connect, would get part way through a post and then the connection would be lost for the next several minutes to couple of hours. After 5 years they finally sent a tech out to check the box & their connection. Tech sez everything is fine at their end. Problem apparently lies with the phone line wiring in my home. I'm not sure I'm buying this completely. Really only matter is I decide to stick with DSL. After checking further on DSL service, it's obvious that if you'r…

I was a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me... It was her beautiful younger sister. My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight miniskirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else. One day her 'little' sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that…

  8. I had the unfortunate experience of Google Talking with Icarium once. It was a long time ago, Sept. 2007 I believe. Even now, almost a year later, my fingers are still somewhat numb. Doctors say that they might never fully recover. This being Head-Case, I would like to hold a contest suitable for you. Contest rules: 1. Enter into a Google Talk session versus Icarium by August 8. The session should last for at least three minutes. 2. You may Talk about anything Head-Case-related. 3. The Top 3 winners will be ranked by Icarium based on the amount of challenge he feels they presented to him. I don't expect anyone to actually beat him, so it will be a subjectiv…

  10. I use my phone a lot for internet. Opera Mini does a great job at formatting almost all pages and makes it breeze to use. However, it has trouble with HC. HF formats just fine, but i think its because of different forum software. Would it be possible to make thi wonderful place more mobile friendly?

Instead of keeping the Flip Ultra after finding out it doesnt take external memory or take pics, I decided to get a cheap point and shoot instead. I'm looking for one under $150 but hopefully closer to $100. I've been looking on Budget Camera Group Test (Q4 2008) Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review and it seems that the Panasonic Lumix LZ8 is a good one. If anyone else has any other recommendations, I'm open to anything.

EDIT: There is a pay phone here. We are going to try to get enough change together to call ourselves. Please hold until you hear from me again. ---- Until yesterday afternoon, I was doing a 5 day dual sport motorcycle ride. Unfortunately I had a big crash on a dirt road. I'm basically OK but almost certainly have broken ribs and am in no shape to continue riding. The crash was at the end of the day and I was able to make it to here, which was where we were planning to stay the night. This is in the middle of nowhere just south of Death Valley. Of course, there is no cell coverage. As you can see from this, I do have access to a computer. I emailed Stacy …

This gets crazy discounted once a year and it's that time. If you want a wealth of fiction, music reviews, film commentary, cartoons, etc. here you go. Although the software isn't up to the content (though updates to it are better than some early reviews), 4,000 issues over 80 years for under $20 is incredible. Content is searchable by keywords, but like all these summary DVD collections, they're not going to go back and get permissions from every writers estate so these are decent resolution images - basically PDFs - of every page, not the text. You get over it quickly though and you can always 'print to PDF' with OS X or Acrobat to get outside. There's an update disc fr…

I'd like to buy this t-shirt from the UK Comic Relief charity, but unfortunately for me they don't ship outside the UK. If someone in the UK could help me -- I would really appreciate it and, of course, cover the cost of shipping and the t-shirt.

  20. I'm giving thought to selling my touch.I haven't used it in about a month, and daddy needs an exhaust for his (pending) new bike. I have my mac with me all day at school, and I'm probably going to pickup a shuffle for workouts. I don't know if I need my touch anymore.

Be just like the Cool Kids, with their fancy Vinyl. "Why would anyone buy vinyl in this day and age?" "To be really cool," says Mark Wadhwa, one half of the pair behind the Vinyl Factory, which in 2003 rescued the EMI vinyl pressing plant in Hayes from closure. "Everyone can download. If you've got a vinyl record you're different." Vinyl: The business duo who believe it's got a big part to play in music's future - Telegraph

I want to convert a fair amount of Euros in a EU bank account to my US banks. This was money earned from work, and EU income tax has already been paid on it. Are there any issues/complications I should be aware of when transfering it back stateside? Any tax issues with the US? I'm going to contact our hospital's financial adviser next week, but thought I'd ask here.
