As we seem to have lots of In-n-Out fans here, thought these other secret items may be of use. Meat Cube. 10 secret menu items at fast food restaurants - CNN.com

  2. Started by Sherwood,

This Friday (9/25) I'll be attending an evening session of the Great American Beer Festival here in Denver. Much as I would like to sample all 1,800 beers, time is limited to 4.5 hours, and I can't drink one sample per 9 seconds for more than an hour or two. Therefore, I was hoping some of you brew aficionados (read: feckless drunks) might have some suggestions for me for a beer/brewery/style I should not miss.

  3. Started by skullguise,

Not a gin connoisseur by any means, but I have recently been drinking it some with dinners. Usually with tonic and lime. Just went out to a nice place last night, and ordered Bombay Sapphire. Waitress, a gin lover herself (and dang cute!), recommended one I had only heard of but never learned about or tried: Hendricks of Scotland Distilled with flowers and cucumbers! I took her recommendation, though, and glad I did! Was a very smooth yet flavorful gin, with none of the pseudo-paint-thinner scent I've smelled before, even a bit on some of the best gins. Highly recommended....will likely get a bottle for myself, first hard alcohol I've bought since Absenth…

I am searching for a bottle of Saz 18 yr. Anyone know where I can order one or be able to ship some?

I'm leaving tonight for a one month trip in Europe with a friend, we'll be making these cities: - Paris - Strasbourg - Munich - Prague - Berlin - Dresden - Amsterdam - Brussels - Bruges Any tips for good obscure places to eat or drink on the cheap? Or just nice places to visit that are not in tourist books? Thanks!

  7. Started by riceboy,

Well, after reading posts from Tyrion, Grawk, and others I decided to dip my feet into some bourbon. I tried some Maker's Mark, Gentlemen Jack and Jack Daniels Single Barrel. I didn't like the Gentlemen's Jack or JD Single Barrel, but I thought Maker's Mark was okay. I then decided to purchase these today: Knob Creek Woodford Reserve Basil Hayden Baker's 7 Just got done trying the Knob Creek and now I am on the Basil Hayden. What really intrigued me to Bourbon was Tyrion mentioning that he started off with scotches, but now reaches for bourbons. Since joining HC I've purchased a crap load of Scotches which I do very much enjoy. I prefe…

For those near a BevMo, may be time to stock up. This isn't their super, twice a year, $.05 sale, but still a decent selection. Beverages & More! - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Champagne, Port, Dessert wine

  9. Started by grawk,

Sure, I'd love to be both, but given a choice, I'd rather eat good food and drink good beer in moderation than add even 20 years to the end of my life. The trick is finding the right level of gluttony...

  10. Started by The Monkey,

As shown by our "What are you drinking now" thread, there are a fair number of beer drinkers here. So, without stealing that threads thunder, perhaps it would be cool to have a thread where we can compile more in-depth reviews on our favorite (and least favorite) beers. No need for anything fancy or formal. Sure beer advocate and such are good resources, but I like you folks better.

  11. Have we had this thread yet? I found humanflyz' short whisk(e)y one, but not a whole lot of talk. I need to expand my palette, so where should I go? Also, any recommendations on reading/online sites? Wine Advocate/Spectator? Others?

  12. Started by MrSlacker,

I am looking for reasonable priced tequila. Nothing over around $60 for 750ml. I usually drink Jose Cuervo Especial because it is cheap. My dad got me a bottle of Patron Silver and I really enjoy it. What would be your recommendations for tequila in my price range.?

  13. I don't have any access to local liquor stores that sell the kind of scotch that are often recommended here. So what are some reputable places online to get them?

  14. Started by guzziguy,

The glass beaker of my current Bodum french press is cracked and leaking. This is the second consecutive beaker that's failed in under a year. Can anybody recommend a small capacity (4 cup or 20 oz. range) french press that will last longer than a year? I would think that having a metal beaker or something similar would be good. Meanwhile, I'll start searching the web.

  15. Started by JBLoudG20,

This forum sure helped me zone in on some key beers which I may not have had exposure to. I'd like to explore wine in the same fashion, and could use some pointers. I tend to like Red more than White, but will gladly explore anything suggested. I'd prefer my exploratory bottles be on the cheaper side, so suggestions under $25 would be appreciated. I'm looking for a great bang for buck

  16. I know that this is not a cooking based forum, but because its delicious I couldnt resist to share with all of you guys. I know, I know, you may think, what an asshole, all that and only for you! Well, not for me only, we expecting some more assholes today, so the party can continue...

So I need to enlist the help of some of the LA folks in making a couple of recommendations for good, reasonably priced restaurants in the LA area. My sister lives out there and every year for Xmas I try to get her a gift certificate to a place she might not otherwise know about or feel like she can afford. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

So, I was reading the Chopt dressing menu (pdf), and in the description of one of the salad dressings, it says:

I'll start. For an everyday bourbon this is one of my favorites. Good flavor and a very reasonable price.

  24. Started by Chekhonte,

I'm not sure how many people here have tried this ice cream by dreyers but it's really fucking good. It's vanilla ice cream with caramel swirls, chocolate covered peanuts and tiny little tiney peanut butter cups. Other brands carry it too under different names. It usually has and animal followed the word "tracks". It'll probably blow your ass to high heaven.

  25. Started by JBLoudG20,

So I just ate a yogurt that technically didn't have a complete seal around the lid. When I lifted the tab, there was some dried yogurt on the rim, and it didnt have its usual spit at me ordeal. I thought twice about eating it, then decided to do it anyway
