  1. getting arrested while protesting is probably a good thing for a college student to do. It's also a good thing to learn not to do again

  7. Tomorrow, after just short of two and a half months of waiting for it to arrive from Japan, I get to pick up my brand-new car. Damn, I'm excited! It'll be the first new car I've ever had.

  10. Completed my first drive without killing myself. Wow. This is a capable car. Never driven a car with turbo before so that is going to take a little getting used to. Getting performance exhaust may not have been one of my brighter ideas. Its friggin' LOUD. Pics:

  11. So after some searching around for ideas, I came across the fact that the meat glue enzyme isn't a huge fan of salt. I was using salt cured bacon which would explain the disappointing bond. Last night I glued together the remaining two chicken breasts with a piece of cheese in between them (had I had ham, it would have been cordon bleu) and when I pulled it out of the bag just now, it was seriously like one piece of meat. I couldn't even get a fingernail in the seam to try and pull it apart. Lesson learned, too much salt means a bad bond. Also experimenting so far has been delicious.

  14. Sorry to hear about your daughter, HPA. Regardless of whether we all approve or disapprove of the protests I would try and be as supportive of her as possible. She seems like a smart girl who just ended up in to a bad situation. We all make choices that don't turn out the way we had planned. I wouldn't give her anything but support and well wishes to get through this. Good luck to you and your family.

  19. What's funny is, Stretch has probably long since forgotten come to terms with what to worry about, but is reminded every time this thread is bumped. Lollers.

  21. I am loving Tidal just wish it recommended better, I recall MOG talking be to some strange cool places via the recommendation feature. Also Prince Sign of the Times sounds like the selectively used two different masters as some songs are loud as fuck and others have plenty of headroom? All things considered I'm still very satisfied.

  24. Got an email back from schiit saying the dac was noisy with the grado gr10 which is not as sensitive as the Jh 16. recommended I cancel the order since it was not the tool for the job. Extremely impressed with their honesty. Will likely buy from them in the future.

  25. ^ Favorite Mike Nichols tidbit since his passing - Dustin Hoffman was convinced by Nichols to play The Graduates very WASPy character (in book) by saying "Well, maybe he's a Jew on the inside." Best film worried character ever (at least not played by Woody Allen). Hope things calm down for you Stretch.

  27. Full day hanging with the grand kids ages 5, 7 &10. Helped us put up the Christmas tree and we watched Polar Express. They can be a handful or angels depending on how they choose to be. Today they were all angels. Looking forward to a good time with them tomorrow.
