  10. I've been playing the 3 disc set nonstop this week. I think it's better than everything since the early nineties. Better than load, and everything after. It's really good car drive music. The Dio medley is really nice. I didn't realize how much I missed this. They were my favorite band in middle school through high school. /wipes tears

  12. I'm going to head in for a few days to see what's new in headphones but would really prefer to use it as an excuse to see some friends I miss and haven't seen in a long while. Any takers on a Head-Case contingent at the NYC CanJam in Feb?

  13. Oh all right... with std. rectifiers With Schottky bridges One other thing I noticed while playing around with this. Since this is just on a piece of wood, I don't have the AC ground tab connected to anything. When checking AC voltage between it and the board ground, it was floating around at 50-60Vac. I assume this is normal since the board isn't really referenced to anything? Should I tie the AC ground tab to the board, either directly or thru the 10 ohm resistor that is provided?

  16. Received the US/CA destined pots from MLA yesterday. The pots and boards fit perfectly as can be seen in the pic below. Many thanks to Pars and MLA for their great work! Still waiting for a few board payments but soon as MLA and I figured out the shipping charge I will notify the US/CA GB participants of the final shipping cost and start sending pots/boards out. The shipping charge from MLA to me will be evenly spread between each pots I received. So far, we have one participant who did not respond to multiple payment reminders for pots and boards and will be stricken from the GB.

  17. In. Always in for supporting the special ops/forces community. Mike, I don't know if you are aware or not but if you shop on Amazon you can select Amazon smile as your home page and a portion of all your purchases will receive a donation to your charity of choice. I chose the Navy Seals Family Foundation but there is a option for the Special Forces Charitable Trust which is the Army GB beneficiary I believe.

  19. RIP good buddy... This past may I lost the last of 5 cats that I had kept together from birth to death since 1997. I had him for 19 years! Longer than my kids have been alive. It's a gut shot indeed

  20. It is an idea worth considering though it would probably lead to Lance being banned from competition quicker than a forum newbie shilling ten dollar "high end" headphones.

  22. I may be going out on a limb here, but I think we should leaf this alone as it is a case of barking up the wrong tree, as the root of the problem is to be found in another branch of the hyperbole surrounding this general topic. if you are inclined to bore into it, you will get to the heart of the matter in which many pithy statements are to be unearthed, and other facts that may stump you.

  23. I'll try my best to make it, but can't make any promises because something always seems to come up last minute. If I'm actually in town that weekend, and someone really needs a place to crash and doesn't mind sleeping on something not much better than the floor, then hit me up.

  35. Took Emily to the airport this morning for her flight to Philadelphia where she starts her nine month government program contract to work with inner city kids helping them to get into college. The program manager was excited to have a Notre Dame graduate on board and so it seems all of the students in her group. The best part so far is that these kids really want to be there and really want to go to college but they lack the resources that other kids have available to them. The challenge for Emily will be to help these under resourced kids make it to the big time. We are hoping for a major win if she is successful in getting one of her students admitted to Notre Dame (biased?). Fingers crossed, asking for HC positive energy to be sent to Philly.
