Refurbished my Ruger 10/22 Ruger BX Trigger, extended magazine release, skeletonized charging handle, Tactical Solutions threaded and fluted bull barrel, Hogue overmolded rubber thumbhole stock, picatinny optic mount, Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 3-9x BDC scope. I think it came out pretty nice. I should have taken a before picture.

I have finished my GRLV "portable"

Above post show changes to the balance servo I’ve made. Below schematic shows changes made to get the KGOOS (Opto Offset Servo) - the only offset servo you need. Q33 and R73 replaced by a small daughter board and the resistor strings changed accordingly. For reference here is t2schemop.pdf, schematic of the STAX T2 output section. Great article, Thanks! I know a few media composers who've taken the iMacPro plunge but for the most part, they're very well heeled. So far, they're pretty impressed with stuff like rendering speeds and large template launch, but when it comes to reading big ass sessions (with ridiculous amounts of plug-in loads like reverb) the old dust bins aren't that far behind. So, the direction that the iMac Pro has taken isn't a huge "real world" improvement for music and I'm hoping that Apple and their new modular Mac Pro will take that into account. It's great to hear that real life media composers are on staff now and that might explain the tremendous "real world" improvements that came crammed into the latest update of Logic Pro X. It may have put Logic at the top of the heap for that kind of work. BTW That was a "free" update!!!!

This is interesting: https://techcrunch.com/2018/04/05/apples-2019-imac-pro-will-be-shaped-by-workflows/ I think the author is right that the delay to 2019 for the Mac Pro may be somewhat due to the tepid reception of the iMac Pro. I don't have any sales figures from which to judge, but I have to imagine that the iMac Pro has flopped awfully hard. I don't think it was really the answer most "pros" were looking for, in that it is not modular at all and it is severely thermally constrained under load. It sounds like they've gone back to the drawing board, which would be a very good thing.

Thanks Ryan! Maybe I'll take you up on that once I have it built (kinda). This is set for somewhat specific loading for an AT ML440, so I would want to match it somewhat to your cart. I'll pm you when I have it more or less done and we can go from there. I haven't had a turntable setup in years. My table isn't exactly up to HC standards either (Thorens TD320).

Thanks Marc. Yes, I'll take one. Me: Salas Folded Simplistic Phono stage. I did my own board layout (in Diptrace), based on the diyaudio board, but made a few changes. I built these with parts I had laying around (other than the 2SK369BL quad from Tea Baf on diya and 2SK117GR JFETs which MA Santos was very kind to send to me, as the ones I had weren't high enough in IDSS). Resistors are a combination of Holco 0.1%, PRP, and for values I didn't have, Welwyn RC55 0.1%. I'll probably replace some of the PRPs with Welwyns as well. The caps I had around (MKP1837 and BC MMKP 383), but will probably replace these with some Mundorf Supremes. Target case is a Modushop Slim Line 1U (team single chassis). Both boards worked fine on initial power up. I am currently leaning towards powering these with either 1 or 2 GRLV plus boards set at 35V (have one built and tested). If anyone has a good reason to instead use the Salas shunt regs (which I have on the boards, just not populated), let me know what you think. I know a lot of people ooh and ahh over shunt regs, but I'm not quite so sure they are automatically better than a good linear regulator such as the GRLV. Salas' do have a good reputation however.

I’ve two PSUs for my electrostatic amplifiers. The DIY T2 has 500 volts rails so I’m feeding all my amplifiers with 500 volts. Now I’ve been thinking of building a new PSU with 400 volts. From what I understand the only reason to go higher then 400 volts is if you really want high sound levels. Today I’ve brought down the T2 PSU to +/- 400 V and -460 V (the -560 V in my PSU is produced by its own regulator connected to ground). The only modification on T2 amplifier needed was to change the battery voltage from 740 V to 640 V – swapped the 4.7K resistors to 6.8K. Since I use offset servos similar to the opto servo Kevin introduced in his designs a couple of years ago I didn’t have to change anything else.

My old apartment was too small for a dining room table so I’ve been eating meals at home on the couch or at my desk for years. Now I get to eat at a table like an adult. Feels good, man!

So, what do you guys think of my front panel layout? I would like to loose the indicator mark on the knob, but it functions in four positions alternating between the four options on/off for gain (high and low (MC/MM) and rumble filter (on/off). The LEDs are bi color green/red, green is on/MC and red is off/MM. The power LED is always green. Just using the same value resistor for both colors, they seem to be matched somewhat. The LEDs are from Bivar and the circuit uses one common-anode and one common-cathode. Just for Nate, I avoided blue

I have been using my Twisted Pear Audio Buffalo II DAC with a Volumite digital volume control for a few years. Earlier this year I decided to expand it to a dual-mono setup. In the process I also added the Amanero/Hermes/Cronus/Rhea USB-i2s adapter with isolation and re-clocking. I used two chassis I have purchased some time ago and house the PSU in its own, separate chassis. A Placid HD powers the digital section and GR LV powers the Legato I/V converter and "The Wire" balanced headphone amp (the small module on the left side of the chassis).
