i took bugsey to another vet today for a third opinion. there appears no way around the fact that he needs surgical intervention because his urinary tract is obstructed. i am worried sick about the little bugger. he'll be going under the knife shortly... here's a photo i shot with my iphone before they took him :'(

please keep him in your thoughts (and/or prays, if that's your thing).

My family's pug (pugsley... lol) always used to always have problems so I feel for you.

If he's never had surgery before then the first couple of days you have him home will be quite frightening (well it was for us).

He'll sound very hoarse and seem as if he is choking regularly... it is only irritation from being intubated.

Pugs are particularly bad after surgery 'cause of their weird soft pallet.

As long as you make sure he is calm and doesn't get too worked up/stressed about it he'll be fine :)
