Audeze LCD-2

Featured Replies

Couldn't possibly sound as trebly and sibilant.

Finally worked out what S-Logic stands for.

The S is for sibilance.

  • First off, why is this in the LCD-2 thread?  Second, the 727 has 350V rails so it can't really produce enough voltage to kill the drivers.  Now there are two main ways to destroy electrostat

  • The LCD-4 is twice as good as the LCD-2, and 1/3 better than the LCD-3.

  • Or a special edition that goes to LCD-11

Not only are they ugly, they are expensive too.

Would be curious to hear how they sound.

Ugly..??

So umm... I haven't been around for a while or really kept up with new things too closely, but what is the difference between LCD2 and LCD3?

Namely, why is the latter twice as costly?

I ran a quick search of this thread, but couldn't really find any comparisons.

I'm sure some of y'all have heard both. Should I be digging in meet threads?

Thanks! That's definitely one of those "let me google that for you" things haha. My fault. <3

Anyone heard a new pair of these recently? I just got mine (from the Black Friday sale) and it seems like they've upped the treble response

I haven't heard another pair so I can't compare mine to anything, just wondering if this is the new norm or if my pair is an anomaly.

(Compare with InnerFidelity)

Mine are about a month old. I'll upload a snap of the fr chart when I can. Beautiful sounding cans.

No need to go to the trouble.

On the contrary, I am very interested in seeing his slightly different but actually the same frequency chart

same here. i'd like to see how being smothered with a pillow would actually measure.

Isn't the difference in the charts due to the fazor implementation? The dates of the charts are October and December 2013, which is right around when the fazor upgrade was placed as part of the new production.

Is that the Foo or Feng Shui version of the Fazor?

seeing companies updating their flagships every nine months make's me happier with the Sennheiser approach.

"Here's your flagship HD650. It's all you are getting for the next seven years, so spend the money once and relax because they are awesome"

seven years later:

"Here's your flagship HD800. Its the best dynamic can ever made, because it took us seven years to make it. It's all you are getting for the next seven years, so spend the money once and relax because they are awesome."

Having said that, here is hoping for the HD800BC v1.2 (Bone Conductor Version) in the next three months. Only $300 more than the HD800 and it vibrates your jaw.

Not only the worlds best headphones, but also the best headphones for giving head.

Do you know that as fact, or did you mistake that for 'getting head'?
