Headcases Outside? The Horror... The Horror...

"Due to designer decision the XJ03 ( as well as all the new portable products ) is available only in electric blu anodized aluminum body, with engraved graphics and silver color panels." Can anyone explain why? Why it has to be blue? Same goes to the IEM....... And Sovkiller is no longer with them.....interesting

Hi guys, I need help with buying IEM headphones. I was looking for Shure's Se310 and then I saw some positive reviews for Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5EB and Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5Pro. I mainly listen to electronic and hiphop music. What would you prefer between these ones? If you suggest any other model, I will gladly listen to other suggestions. Sorry guys, I'm a newbie and I don't want to spend (max 200$) for a crap IEM's if you understand me. Thank you for your help in advance

I've been following their development blog as well as the thread over at HF, it seems like it has the potential to be a pretty killer portable. They've been very open to answering questions and addressing concerns and suggestions as well. Anyone else intrigued by a portable DAC with balanced amp that has both USB and iDevice connection?

  4. I have the headphones choices down to these... Velodyne vPulse Beyerdynamic MMX 102 ie Sennheiser MM70s Which is better? I love some bass but not at the expense of everything else. Or is there another choice for the price? (below $100)? Thanks

  5. Basically I cannot use my jh13's with the case on my iPhone, the shell around the headphone out is raised and bulky enough to prevent a full inserted connection. But i like the case because it's slim and pretty durable (casecrown). So I am thinking a female to male 1/8 inch headphone adaptor of sorts and the male end is long and thin enough to insert completely without being obstructed by the case ( yes go ahead and make a joke but then after you must answer my question ok thx).

  6. I just started using Tidal. Is it worth getting Bluetooth streamer like the Walkman versus using the iPhone six? Also, is the Walkman the only budget portable device that can stream Tidal? Thank you very much.

sorry for posting another imod thread. I am deciding on two different options for next tax return. I could get an Imod or a pico with dac. as far as how I would amp the imod I have a emu0404 usb which I would run it through for its internal amp. however I am starting to think the pico would be the better choice. I am also considering buying a small laptop about 11 - 12 inch screen and I already have a large portable hdd. so I am considering using the pico with a lappy instead of imod. if it would sound better through the lappy and pico than imod and emu 0404 than that would be the btter choice. I have allessandro ms2 already so I am alright in that department. thanks alot…

  11. Hello, So... I've tried doing some research. I don't want IEMs because I have ear problems with them. Here's what I basically need: Portable. These headphones need to be portable enough to put inside a backpack filled with textbooks. Another key here is durability, so they won't break while I'm carrying them around. They won't be under the books, but they'll be between the top of the books and the zipper of the backpack. Isolating. I'm going to be on a loud school bus a lot while listening to them, as well as on a plane sometimes. I don't like my music loud (I'm prone to hearing loss), so I really want them to isolate well so I don't have to turn my music up that loud…

Another 3 weeks go by, and the men become so embarressed about what they are doing that they dig her back up

I won an iMod from Vinnie at the NYC Meet. Well, not exactly won. I bought it for $100. I currently have a 5.5G iPod, but the LCD screen is starting to flake (I bought it refurbed from Apple) and Vinnie informed me that I would need to get an ALO LOD, which I think is $85 to use the iMod. I'm not a huge fan of that arrangement. Would it be wiser to find a cheap 4G and get that done?

Intended for 24/96 and higher and DSD portable audio devices, ones that can take our high-res tracks on-the-go. And yes, that includes phones -- if you're aware of one that's 24/96 &c. -capable, I'm (ahem) all ears. I just saw this video at NAMM: ...and I'm hopeful, because I've liked Sony's SACD players even on their lower-end offerings, presumably because of their DSD DACs. Haven't heard the Korg portable devices, so won't be able to compare, unfortunately.

  16. I've been having sooooo much fun putting together a 100mph audio system I just couldn't resist posting it up for your viewing pleasure before it starts moving too fast to see. You see, I bought me a super slab gobbler (highway bike) and I had to rig up some music. This is what it looked like when I bought it. A week later it looked like this. Didn't really have to take it apart that far just to install the gear, but I wanted to see what was under the hood. (BTW, what's under the hood is a 1300cc, 140hp, 100ft/lb torque screaming Yama-mill.) Then I did a bunch of this shit. And now it looks like this: Guess how …

hi. i know there probably isn't a 'best' as its all subjective, however your input will be appreciated. i'm looking for the 'best' mp3 player. i don't care about the video features as i'll never be watching video or looking at photos with it. i'll be listening to mp3 format. pop and classic hard rock will be the main music, and audiobooks too. flash drive. plenty of bass is required.[very important.] so as you can see, its all about the SQ of the music, that i care about. my current player is the clip+, and i like it a lot. i've read that it is regarded as one of the best sounding players out there, however i'm hoping there are some better. my IEMs …

mackay maus, another other local headphone geek and friend, has kindly loaned me his Headroom Micro stack to play with for a few days. I was playing around with the DAC in conjunction with my AE-2 last night using both USB with my computer and optical via my Philips DVP642. I have a few thoughts but I'm not sure what to make of them exactly so I'm curious for those that have heard the Micro DAC what their impressions are so I can try to get a handle on what I'm hearing.

Spoke with my CIO about using my productivity budget on a pair of custom IEMs and it seems like it's going to get approved. What's the current consensus on which one is preferred here? I like the ER-4 sound sig. I greatly preferred my im716's over my Triple-Fi 10's. But they broke so I'm stuck using the TF10's. As for budget, as long as it's under $1,500.

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone here uses one of these? I have one as my portable amp/DAC paired with an iPod Classic 7G, and it is pretty awesome. Oppo seem to have taken on the headphone market and made some very impressive first products (like the PM-3) Share your thoughts and opinions

I need to replace my broken iPod and I'm not sure whether to get an iPod Classic or Zune 120GB. From what I hear the new Zunes are pretty good and the syncing software is not an embarrassment any longer. The problem is that I don't know anybody that acutally has one. Have any of you had a chance to monkey around with one? I like ipods but the headphone jack seems to be a weak point, my past two classics have broke pretty quick and on the last one apple refused to fix it. What do you guys think?

As a user of an 8GB Clip, I find them to be quite excellent in spound quality and convenience. The only thing I could wish for is higher capacity memory. It appears this new Clip resolves that wish with the inclusion of a MicroSDHC slot, allowing up to 16GB cards, which fully integrate into the main menu. If they ared compatible with the MicroSDXC format of memory cards, that would mean up to...eventually...64GB of storage.
