  2. You can't go stirring up shit on HF by asking logical questions like that. That behavior simply won't do!! Now remove those headbands and step in line!!!

  3. Just adding yet another carbon build to the thread (crappy phone pics). 400v supplies rather than 450v allowed the caps to be board mounted in my chassis (though I am having some of Kevin's off-board PCBs made for a possible future 450v version). 400v also has the added benefit of running (slightly) cooler than the 450v version. Added the GRLV supplies but don't have a non-GRLV version to compare. But this amp is a true winner. Every time I listen to it I am awe struck at how good it is, particularly when compared to the T2 - they both have that ability to fool you into not realizing how loud you have cranked up the volume.

  4. Many of us enjoy our pets and love animals. I make it a habit to support businesses that support my causes including animal welfare. A local business has a long history of donating to the local animal shelter/humane society. http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2016/10/bissell_hosts_local_animal_she.html#incart_river_home No disclaimer needed. Other than having clients that work there I have no vested interest in the company. Have one of their carpet cleaners which works as advertised. Something to consider when you purchase products that they make.

  5. This is the true nasty woman! Fuck that cunt. False advertising at a minimum by this shelter and I bet they have money donated with no kill caveats etc. Bring her down and make it known this place is lying to donors.

  8. So I didn't tell this story, because it had me so upset. But now I need to vent and this seems like the thread to do that. For a few months now I've been feeding a Mother kitty, her four babies and the Father too. I have been making it a point to handle all of them and get them socialized. So about a week ago I called the new no kill shelter in my area, told her I had 4 weaned kittens and their Mom that need to find good homes. She came out that afternoon. I picked up three of the kittens and put them in her cage. She walked over to her truck, with the cage and started fiddling with something. I then noticed her giving them shots, and assumed it was vaccinations. Then I noticed that the kittens were not moving. I asked her what the shots were, and she told me she euthanized them. I started screaming at her, asking her what the fuck she did that for? She went ballistic on me and threatened to have me arrested. Then she told me to give her the Mother and the remaining kitten, to which I promptly told her to fuck off and get the fuck off of my driveway. She called the cops. The cops arrived and talked to her first, I could not hear them. Then they came and talked to me. I explained the situation, and explained that when I called I made clear that the kittens were social, weaned and needed to be placed in homes. The cops told me that I should not be feeding stray cats, and that I needed to give her the remaining cats. By this time I had put them in my motor home. I told them that there was no law against feeding stray cats, and if there was then they would need to arrest me, because I was not going to give that woman the other cats. They got a bit pushy with me, but I held my ground. My neighbor manages the park, and heard the loud voices. She backed me up and asked them to leave until they had a warrant for the cats. Here's the thing...This is supposed to be a NO KILL shelter, and they get their funding advertising as such. So I have been putting up flyers around town, telling people what occurred, and I think the shit may have hit the fan, because she was at my RV when I arrived home from work, screaming at me for telling people she killed the kittens. I got the manager, and she made her leave the park. This bitch has no clue who she fucked with! I will keep up my campaign until she's fired. I plan on protesting at the shelter on Saturday. I am also very disappointed in the local police. Sorry to rant, but I am so pissed off right now

  9. The last post I wrote on HF several months ago was a genuine question, which was, " If sorbothane improves the SQ of Stax Earspeakers so much, then why hasn't Stax implemented the use of it ", to which that post was removed. After that happened I'd had enough of HF, and only go on now for to have a laugh at some of the crap that's posted there, also to reply to PM's I occasionally get.

  17. I wasn't thinking about the fat, to be honest. I can see that, but that's pretty picky! I'm assuming she prefers that the fat melts into the meat a bit more? This might make an interesting study, comparing beef fat to pectin. Pectin's melting point dramatically changes the way a vegetable feels in the mouth: it softens/dissolves at one temp, but at another temp, very close to that point, it turns to liquid and leaves the vegetable, It's why it's important to just get beyond that temp, when cooking vegetables sous vide. Otherwise you are poaching them.

  18. I did something really good today. Actually me and my father. We have been feeding 20-25 street cats for 2 years. And for winter is coming we started to build a shelter for street cats. It has 10 room. We'll add more room/shelter later. Here are some pictures: If you have any suggestions for improvement, i gladly listen them. It is beneath the bubble wrap, which we are going to use for isolation. And we'll add fences around it so nothing can bother cats while they are sleeping/eating. And we'll add a roof made from rigid plastic for rain. Btw it is still useable as it is. Cats crawl under bubble wrap. I'll post finished pictures too.

  19. What Mr Strelow needs here is an arc of sorb over his head from one ear to the other, and forget about the headphones. That way he can imagine just how good the music sounds without the problem of any mechanical cumbrances, Win-win, right there.....

  21. They do rely on donations, and they advertise that they are a no kill shelter to get those donations. What really gets me is why? Why would you kill kittens that are social and easily adoptable? Why would she euthanize them in front of me? Had she waited until she got back to the shelter, I would never have known. Big, big, big mistake!

  23. Well now that I'm starting to calm down, I do regret my name calling. I do not like to call anyone a bitch, but what she did was not only shocking, but completely against what she advertises. And that needs to be brought into the open. Oh, she's done in my book Al. She made the big mistake of giving me a mission. I don't know how many remember when Verizon messed with me, but that only made me determined to see it through, even though it took 11 nights on the phone, averaging 4 hours per night. And that was just over a new phone! This lady has no idea the lengths I will go to!

  30. I think your way of thinking is correct. At this point I can usually taste a piece of beef and tell if she'll like it based on the way it feels and the flavor profile. Luckily for me she's was less picky about who she fell in love with I have always shared my sous vide made meals with her etc so I've never done a truly rare steak at 120 or so like you are proposing, 127 was as low as I've gone and she ate about 3 bites. I generally eat rare at dinners. Maybe I'll try that when she's out of town on a work trip.
