February 10, 201016 yr 9.5 inches overnight. Maybe another inch today. Wife's a school teacher and has a snow day with school closed. I think teachers get more giddy about snow days than their students. I, of course, will be going to work.
February 10, 201016 yr Really coming down here and blowing now. Upgraded to Blizzard Warning...and work is open for business. To be expected I suppose, but I found out that the procedure for deciding whether or not to close is made by the Senior Executive actually in the office on the day of the inclement weather. So, in other words, basically the person who lives closest and had the easiest time getting in makes the decision.
February 10, 201016 yr Author Nothing here yet, though my work (private SPED school) is having an early dismissal, which hopefully means I'll get to go home a bit early. I just checked and the snow accumulation forecast in my area was downgraded.
February 10, 201016 yr Coming down like mad and very windy here. Pretty good white out conditions as of right now.
February 10, 201016 yr We've gotten at least 8, and it's supposed to really get going during the day...
February 10, 201016 yr The snow is going horizontal, briefly interrupted by clouds of the stuff flying off the roof.
February 10, 201016 yr In the lower right hand corner, my car is there. It was parked on 4" of snow after the driveway had been clear yesterday.
February 10, 201016 yr I'd say it's damn well into blizzard territory here. I'm surprised my power hasn't gone out yet. Yeah, not going outside to shovel.
February 10, 201016 yr cleared. WTF would happen if there was a fire or other emergency on the street? Are they going to park up the street and watch someone's house burn? well, if that person just took one for the team, it would probably help clear the street pretty damn quickly, ya know, being a fire and all.
February 10, 201016 yr Its coming down here in Reading now, but still above freezing so not really sticking yet. Prediction is down to only about 3". Woohoo!
February 10, 201016 yr All we have here in W.Mass is a light dusting. It's just enough to make the trees look pretty. TWC says we'll get half an inch through 11PM. This is most odd.
February 10, 201016 yr Author We got virtually nothing here in northern Mass - at least I did get out of work early.
February 11, 201016 yr I've been calling it the "bubba zone" as in "Welcome to prison, here's your new cell mate, bubba"
February 11, 201016 yr We got about 8-10" I would guess maybe a bit more. Hard to judge since it was blowing around so much. This has officially fucked any chance I have of racing on sunday I would say. Well unless I get one of these: http://linc.zenfolio.com/p575337168/h26f57291#h26f57291
