February 10, 201511 yr Author Two of my friends have been working from home for the past two weeks or so thanks to the sad pile of mess that is MBTA. My district still have five more days before we go into July since we start earlier than most other districts in the state, though at the rate we are going, those five days may well be gone by end of this month.
February 13, 201511 yr Holy smokes. That would have driven me insane by now. Hand in there MA crew! Edit: MasNowsNowsNowsNowsNowsNowsetts. Edited February 13, 201511 yr by Hopstretch
February 13, 201511 yr Yep, feelin sorry for you east coast peeps. That is a fuck ton of snow already!
February 13, 201511 yr I'm going to try some time-lapse photography this go 'round for posterity. It may be hard to tell if all that happens is 18" of snow gets piled on 5' of existing snow. The other joy-joy portion of this storm is going to be the wind - 50-70mph gusts with hurricane force winds and 20'+ waves just offshore. Hang on to your butts! The coast of MA may be well and truly effed.
February 14, 201511 yr Author Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck. On a related news, there's a possibility of yet another storm next week. I really should've bought a snow blower. Edited February 14, 201511 yr by Salt Peanuts
February 14, 201511 yr Tomorrow morning's forecast. It started snowing about an hour ago but isn't supposed to really kick in until after midnight.
February 14, 201511 yr Love the last one, Nate. Thunder Snow ftw. Hope power stays on, and all our NE friends stay safe and warm.
February 15, 201511 yr Wind's been gusting up to 50mph -- didn't realize the conditions when I went out, abruptly got off at the next exit (I was in the express lanes, so Springfield), ate, then went home.
February 15, 201511 yr Wow - stay safe. Sounds dreadful squared. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/feeds/31460804where the storms in your neck of the woods get top billing. On the Eastern seaboard, temperatures of -23C (-9F) once the 60mph wind chill is factored in. Which means do not go out. And the weather just being bloody awkward, it looks like another storm system is coming in after this one. Edited February 15, 201511 yr by Craig Sawyers
February 15, 201511 yr Looks like a lot of NE was spared with the storm tracking east, except a small spot on the map that just happens to be in our neck of the woods. 16"+ with a few more expected today. Not sure where to put it all...
February 15, 201511 yr Yeah, we got a foot or more down here too but it looks like it's starting to clear so I'm hopeful the worst is over for this round. Sadly, no thunder snow.
February 15, 201511 yr Pardon the screen (I'm not going outside right now) but the deck was pretty clean before this storm.
February 15, 201511 yr Glad to hear that you made it through ok, Jeff. I assume that VA is shut down for a period of days given the heavy snow?
February 15, 201511 yr Thanks for the concern. Fortunately, my blizzard seems to be cleaning up after itself.
February 15, 201511 yr Be careful of flooding Jeff.... Nate, I have a feeling that my place looks a lot like that.....
