Pars Posted January 6, 2014 Report Share Posted January 6, 2014 Just got a call from my son; apparently our power went out about half an hour ago. Hope they get it restored soon (says around 3:00). Otherwise, I'll have to talk them thru how to shut off the water and drain the system if the temp approaches freezing. So far thermostat says 69 or so, so it doesn't appear to be dropping very fast. We at Canada do humbly apologize for crapping our cold weather on our neighbours to the south. It was -38 here this morning, but the windchill value was -49 C. School buses didn't run today, so Magnus got one more day of holidays before school starts back up. This winter is pretty crazy so far, even by Manitoba standards.
