Just read the following interview of the founder of Dwolla - an online payment company that has a very simple fee structure. Twenty-five cents. Transaction for $50? $.25 fee. Transaction for $5000? $.25 fee. The catch? No credit cards. But read the article. Those of us who have sold or bought high ticket items have been through the PayPal fee shit, and these guys seem to want to beat that. I have zero affiliation with them, other than I just opened an account after reading the info. So take a look - it might be very useful. I saw it originally on BoingBoing. http://www.businessi...w-years-2011-11

Does anybody use Earthlinks DSL-based local phone service?Impressions? QOS? Is it great? Does it suck? It just came available in my neighborhood. I would so enjoy saying goodbye to ATT. I currently use Earthlink for DSL. It's fine. Nothing extreme to report good or bad.

I was playing around in the User CP a couple of weeks ago and came across a page where I could edit the custom title below my username. So I entered "Baby Elephant" because I'm a baby elephant. Now, I'm thinking of changing it, maybe to "Awesome Baby Elephant" or "Super Cool Baby Elephant" or something cool-sounding like that. But I can't find that custom title editing page anymore. Where did it go?

Born 07:51 8lbs 6oz 19.5" Everything went super smooth and mommy and baby are doing very well. It's almost strange how quick and easy things went (from my perspective at least, wife I am sure would say otherwise). Couple days to recover from C-section in hospital then everyone should be coming home. And without further ado......

*** Mod's delete or move if this isn't the best place *** Shameless plug for Orchard Audio, and me. I really like their streamers and amps, great sound for relatively small $. As some know, I use multiples of their Pecan Pi (or + version) streamer/DAC. Leo @ Orchard is starting an affiliate program, you can get a bit off ($25) an order and I get a referral bonus. Referral Link: https://orchardaudio.com/tddsmst?nocache=1 Or, just use tddsmst as a discount code on checkout (may not work for sale items, not sure). They sell some boards so you can DIY, as well as finished products. Enjoy! Or ignore....

Wondering how people have responded to this news? It's rather annoying Equifax took 40 days to admit to the breach and then offers half-ass and confusing assistance to consumers, which requires consumers to go through arbitration in case of dispute. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/09/08/equifax-response-to-data-breach-leaves-many-consumers-confused.html

Back when I was collecting soundtracks I had quite a few of his discs. It is with sorrow that we report the passing of Erich Kunzel at the age seventy-four. He was the celebrated conductor of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra for well over thirty years, but on September 1, 2009 he was struck down by

EU fines Intel record $1.45B for sales tactics - Yahoo! Finance Anyone have more background on this? This quote is pretty bizarre. "The European Commission also told Intel to immediately cease some sales practices in Europe, though it refused to say what those were. Intel said it was "mystified" about what it was supposed to change but would comply with the "extremely ambiguous" EU order." Is it kosher to order someone to stop doing something and then not tell them exactly what they need to stop doing? Moreover the money goes to the EU and not to AMD...?

Stealing my thread title from Bob Dylan it seems I have had some recent bad luck purchasing audio stuff over the Internet. I detailed the broken Quad ESL63's I dealt with in the Quad thread. In addition I have had: - Broken new Welborne Labs power supply for my Duet. Sent back and waiting for new one. - Broken new VPI 16.5 record cleaner. I had to open it up and tighten a allen screw to get the platter to turn. - Broken new Seta Nano phono preamp where the left RCA channel cuts out (I use XLR). Vendor is sending me the new model in December because they are aware of a manufacturing defect. - Broken new BA where the volume control was bad. Sent back to Craig and he f…

As a music critic and journalist, I can get pretty jaded about listening to the new CDs that cross my desk (or, increasingly, the digital downloads or streams that are grudgingly entrusted to me by record labels through top-secret back alleys of the Interwebs). But I can

I'm planning on getting a motor bike in the spring. I haven't driven anything larger then a 250cc dirt bike. By now, its blatantly obvious that motorcycles are extremely dangerous and I should start planning now for my impending crash. The plan right now is to get a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD cruiser in the spring after taking the MSF course and buying safety gear; CE certified padded over pants, leather jacket, riding boots, gloves and no doubt a nice full face helmet. I really am impressed by this bike. Fairly lightweight, good handling, comfort, can handle my size and weight even on the freeway, decent fuel economy, style, price is right; I think its about the perfect…
