I think we've been remiss in some birthday wishes recently! Happy Birthday...young man!

After the batteries in the laundry, I decided to check all the battery powered devices for corrosion/leaks last night. I have a tactical flashlight with CR123a lithium batteries in it. When I opened it up, there was black powder around the batteries. I put the batteries back in the flashlight, I tried googling this and the only thing I could find was black residue after a lithium battery explosion which seems quite toxic. I'm hoping that this is just carbon or something. The batteries work, although to guess this could be from the last pair when they went bad (they didn't explode either). Well, if you haven't it sucks. I spent the last day and half in a hospital due to a severe case of it. I got discharged today and it is a whole lot better but not 100% yet. At least the scans of my brain showed nothing unusual, so they think it's just something viral.

He's a post-modern type who's written lots of short stories, non-fiction, and one totally over the top novel called Infinite Jest. So, in July 2011 my father-in-law passed away, and we inherited his 12 year old cat, Greystone. Greystone was frightened by the ambulance and the police and ran off that day, and it took 3 weeks for my brother-in-law to lure him back into the house. My wife's siblings were unable to keep the cat, so we agreed to take him. When we picked him up he was in poor health, with a mouth full of rotten teeth and he was malnourished and all skin and bone, weighing about 7 lbs.
