Headphone Amplification

Has anyone here heard Schiit's balanced amp the Mjolnir? Looks interesting and apparently puts out more than enough power to drive any headphone. I'm thinking of starting my headphone rig over from scratch - most likely with the LCD-3 phones.

Hello, I'm new to audiophile headphones and I mean completely. I bought based upon recommendations on various websites an Aune X1S. I play Spotify with my iPhone 6 and sometimes my Mac. I understand that I can use an RCA cord to do analog. I want to know how I can connect it digitally? I read that I need an Apple lightning camera connector. Is this the one? I just got a Dynahi and the amp makes a pretty loud sound when it turns off. Can this damage the headphones? The other option is to unplug the headphones and short the amp to ground, which can only be a terrible idea on an amp this powerful.

I got my mayflower O2+ ODAC last week. My primary headhpones are the 600 ohm version of the dt880s and I also tested my old ath-m50's. The audio quality is really poor. Sounds dirty and there's distortion where there shouldnt be. When I plug into my onboard audio the audio is crystal clear using the same audio file(FLAC and 320kbps music). Basically my onboard sounds better in every situation. I've made sure the audio quality is set to 24/96khz. I've tested it with my source volume at 50-80%. I've even done all these steps ive listed above on my friends computer with the exact same results. His onboard sounded better, and his mobo is 3 years older than mine. I dont have a…

I'm looking for a balanced SS amp for a second rig and have turned my attention to this line. I've not paid much attention to Rudi's offerings in the past but have been peeking at his website of late. Any users(past or present) of his gear care to give me some thoughts/impressions? Build quality looks good on the surface, but I've been down that road before. It's nice to have the cosmetic appeal, but I'm really concerned about the inner workings and performance. Appreciate any feedback.

I just bought the SR-009 which should be here soon. I have resisted buying them forever because I never really warmed up to its sound signature when I have listened to them, even via Blue Hawaii SE. Yes, I am a lover of single-ended triode (mostly 2A3 and 45) sound. I don't listen to stuff with lots of bass of dynamic jump, so these days I'm happy listening to my Stax O2 MkI, Senn HE-60 (woody), and HE Audio 'stat via Stax transformer with my 2A3 SET or EL84 sigle-ended pentode speaker amps. A friend of mine has asked me to look at his vintage SRM-T1. The caps are all vintage so I will be replacing them. I count 10 electrolytic caps in there. 4x 400V 100uF 2x 10V 220uF 2x 35V 47uF 2x 50V 10uF The left channel has very weak sound. You can barely hear it when the volume knob is turned up all the way. The right channel is perfectly fine however. I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this one. Unfortunately, I do not have another pair of electrostatic headphones to try. Hi, I recently bought a used SRM-006T to power my SR-404 headphones. The amplifier seems to be working fine and it has the stock 6CF7 tubes. Sometimes I notice slight distortion when listening to fast paced electro music and Souvenir by OMD. I'm not particularly attracted to the idea of tube rolling but I think I should get the SRM-006T serviced soon and I've been offered the Kimik upgrade for £200. This is a lot of money and I'm starting to consider getting a newer SRM-323S or 323II to replace the 006T. I'm not sure whether to service/upgrade the 006T or get a new and cheaper to run solid state 323. I did try SR-407s with a 323S and noticed that the mid range was…

Hello guys. I'm new here, and want to thank you for welcoming me. After some months of tube trials, I'm thinking of SS to power my orthos. I would like to go balanced all the way, and I want your advices on which KG's amp to go. I've read brilliant things on the B22, but it seems surpassed by the Dynahi family (balanced Dynahi, Dynamite,...) -correct me if I'm wrong-. So what's your experience with those orthos ? Which amp must I build ? I've read the Balanced Dynahi build thread, there are some useful tips and help there. As I'm not deep into electronics, and a lightweight DIYer, is it an utopia to build one ? My very best regards from old Europe.

Greetings all! a newbee here I have an econo phono/valve amp that I picked up years ago second-hand and have no clue where it was purchased or manufactured. It appears to have Chinese writing on it and it also does have "GUANGHENG TM300 - TM400AB" on the transformer cover. The transformer is fried and I'm not sure if it's worth repairing but I would do so if I can find one and it's a reasonable cost. Here's a couple of pics and thanks for your time.
