  4. Laying down the modules for my CFAE. I decided to go with the GRHV instead of the BH Mini. Custom making the front and back panels. Back panel will have on the left/right symmetrically laid out and flush mounted the XLR ins/loop-outs and in the middle the IEC inlet. Fabricating the PCB boards for the XLR in/outs atm. Looking to use the CP4-2500 pot on a board as well together with two Stax teflon jacks on the front, symmetrically positioned left/right from the pot. Will use the 2.54mm Amphenol PV wire to board connectors between the XLR and volume pot PCBs as connectors are gold plated and directional, crimping a shielded Sommer Cable Cicada SO-D14, similar to the Canare L-2B2AT. Using 600V 300°C teflon wire for the HV. And... waiting for remaining components and transistors for the GRHV.

  5. Soldered the last cs3675 and thoroughly cleaned the PSU board. And of course a single .1uF 50V is missing and Mouser again has long lead time ot it.

  7. Adapter was the magic word. Made one with a 3-pin Dupont connector... very easy to swap the transistors. Thank you very much, champs! The 2cs3675 test somewhere between 1030-1120V on the DY294. Any special test procedures I should follow? Testing first with the Peak DCA75 checking pin's and type then the breakdown voltage with the DY294.

  10. Done some soldering exercise today. This small board contains 100 x 0402 10K resistors. Hand soldered with a Weller station, XNT-H tip and 0.3 mm solder wire. A few of the resistors are not flat to the board but I think they are acceptable soldered. Looking at your board, Kerry, there seems to be some really nasty things. Any chance for part numbers? I have to convince myself that the best way is to pay for a prepopulated board…

  11. Hi! i would like to share my work with you. I made an dynalo amp powered by grlv power supply and a pcm1794a/cm6631a dac. Everything is totaly made by me. I also designed the pcb nd ordered it from JLCPCB. Amp offset voltage stays at max +-1mV and it is totally silent. Case is DOUK AUDIO. pictures: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1a6cbGFpN6s5EadR8DA_lb21ZFwOwzK4R?usp=sharing

  14. Awesome! I tried a “remote” thermistor (Murata NCP18XH103) and ended up just using a LM234 and some resistors.

  16. I just finished designing this battery protector board. It has a built in balancer to try and keep the cells at the same voltage. I added a thermistor that gets fed up to the battery management on the amp board. This also has it's own thermistor in the middle of the board. I'll set this to about 50 C for both and do some testing once I get this built. The board is 10mm x 56mm.

  26. Aren’t there other similar .1uF/50V in stock at Mouser? For instance 80-C320C104J5R7301, but there are cheaper.

  30. I remember those little, lightweight, plastic headphones with the Yellow foam earpads that were so different than any other headphones out there in the 70's. You could actually listen for hours without your ears sweating. They were definitely innovators. End of an era, but change is a constant.

  33. Actually, no but good question! I have three of these identical looking PSUs now - keeping the simple aesthetic. The PCB could be mounted that way though, but in my “case” it won’t. I plan on logging hours the TT is on (to estimate stylus wear) and how accurate the speed control is. I will retrieve that data off the USB port if needed. Here it is in action. The top display is the actual platter speed. Next to write the auto adjusting code. https://imgur.com/gallery/UXOn6R9

  38. The Lite mk2 should sound like the GSX MK2 in single end but with less refinement due to the lesser power supply. With a dedicated DPS, the Gilmore Lite MK2 should sound identical to the GS-X MK2 in single end operation.

  39. I got some terribly sad news last night from one of my sisters that a close family friend lost her baby in week 40 of her pregnancy. It would have been her and her husband's second child. I can't even imagine how devastated they must be. It is very, very sad.
