Headphones

I'm pretty sure everyone has done this at one time. Hung onto a headphone or piece of gear that You want to like, but don't. Mine is a q701 I bought used 12 years ago real cheap. Cheap because it smelled like an ashtray. Pulled it apart and cleaned it well, and did the bass port mod. I don't like the sound. Put it away and then tried it out again when I changed DACs and amps. I still don't like it. I'm trying real hard to make myself get rid of it. It's hard to be a horder.

umm they sound nice but not to the level of blowing my mind, umm and i waited for a month and a half for them? a lil bit disappointing if you ask me...

Hey all, I need some help here if anyone knows anything about Monster Headphones. My puppy got to the chord and im trying to splice it to a line from another high quality headphone i had it working at some point but when i went to go back in for surgery to Solder the lines i couldn't get them working again. Does anyone know the wiring setup ? I've looked online and everyone says different things. I have a Black, White, Green, Yellow and red coming from the headphones and then the line im trying to splice to is Red, White, Black and a wire with no insulation which i assume is the ground. Looking to make a decision on either the Phiaton ms 400's or the Sennheiser hd 518's what is better for the price? I want a pair i can take on the go and listen to at home and be impressed.

my boss would like a good headphone recommendation. He's looking for a good closed 'phone with velour pads. He has a pair of Beyers that he doesn't like as they are too bass heavy. He also has a HD650, but feels they're bass light and needs something that is closed. He also has a pair of AKG that he likes, but they have pleather pads. He'd be open to retrofitting pads to the AKG, as he likes them. I'm a bit out of my element here, so I figured I'd ask around... Ok, I hate making decisions, and I hate having broken headphones. There is a bit of a rattle in the right side of my maple Darth Beyers. I'm thinking it is either a driver, a hair, or (doubtful, but maybe) a slight defect in the wooden cup assembly. I have a few options, as the seller has reimbursed me a very reasonable amount to go towards rectifying my problem. Option 1: Buy 1 dt770-250 ohm driver to replace the one, fix it myself (with help) or send it to a DIY guy to do it for me Option 2: Same as above, but send it to larry. Calling Reks, calling Reks ..... where did you get the grado cable and the screen mod done to those sr-80's. I love em! I added a headphone pad and they even fit well with good comfort. I might get another pair of sr-80's .... or maybe even a 225 .... and get them modded like these.

A W10Ltd was offered in trade for my RS-1 at the other site. Have not found much info on this phone in the hour or so I looked. I'll research more later. His description "these are the limited edition woodies, released after the original w10vtg. it's a different sounding beast, cleaner and more focused than the vintage. bought them used here in excellent condition with original cardboard box. Wonder if anyone would care to comment on their interpretation of the sound ... especially as it relates to the W5000 or AD2000, or even compared to the RS-1.
