Yeah, he's the reason I love Grofé's Canyon Suite, and his early stuff was very influential on how I hear synthesizer tonalities/timbres -- very unorthodox in places, yet he makes it work, musically.

Fuck. Isao's Snowflakes was my introduction to his music back in the day. Sad times. I am happy that did get to see him once.

RIP to an old High School friend of mine, Mike.  He was chaperoning a Scout trip with some other parents, and they hit rough waters on the Dead River in Maine.  Raft apparently flipped, everyone rescued but him, couldn't be revived with CPR....

Two kids, I think teen/pre-teen....so fucking sad.....

It's been many years since I saw him, only e-chats; we had him to our house with another friend & family when he just had one child.  But it still hits pretty damn hard.
