On Sunday, May 4th from 12N to 5PM, the Audio-Video Club of Atlanta will host a program featuring both portable audio industry representatives and hobbyist demonstrators. This will take place at the Virtual Properties Realty Training Room at 2750 Premier Parkway, Duluth GA 30097. Audio Expo North America - AXPONA: Home Page For the uninitiated, see the link above for info on Axpona. It's pretty much an audio show that Stereophile is sponsoring in the Jacksonville area. Axpona was actually advertised at RMAF '09 and a couple weeks ago I finally booked my flight. This time I fully intend on doing some touristy stuff in Florida, since I didn't get to do anything touristy the last two times I was there. I take it March should be a good time of year for that? So will anyone else also be there? Anyone know if we could convince these guys to do a headphone display room?

Just throwing out there that I plan on being there on Saturday April 14 and would love to hang with anyone. Looking forward to spending way too much money in the new “record shop” as my two primary online vinyl places - acoustic sounds and elusive disc - will be there. I’ll plan on stopping by those manufacturers of gear I own just to say hi and chew the fat a little bit (emotiva, wyred4sound), and even though I don’t have a uturn table anymore, I’d love to just say hi to uturn audio. And justin! Go headamp. Let me know if you plan on coming, maybe I can help organize a dinner for us and the out of towners.

Anyone going? Might make last minute plans, need to see what I might carry in my maybe store.

I was surprised to see today that Axpona is staying in Chicago for another year, this time at the Westin (which is hopefully a hotel upgrade). Last year John, Marc, Mike, and myself had a hell of a weekend in Chicago (see evidence). I would like to continue this tradition if possible since again, it's an international show that's less than 30 min. from my doorstep. Casers, I have long held a dream in my heart that we, as a team, could converge upon some of Europe's storied drinking locations. I'd love to stop by the Abbey in Westvleteren and grab a roadie, get tossed out of a dingy pub in London, or spend a week touring distilleries with you wonderful folks on Islay. I know it's tough to get away for enough time to make a European trip worth it, but I think it would be rewarding. Anyone else interested? Anything in the old world you're all excited to see for yourself?

Not even a thread here in the 'Case for this meet!? Odd given that some illustrious Nor'East members are attending: Salty, Stretch, Nate, Ian (I hope so anyway), Deepak, Ari, Skullguise, voodoochile, others? And now that I am definitely going to be there, I thought I would put out the challenge to any others who might drag ass up to Beantown and turn this into a Travel Team Event. Jeff? Dinny? You guys need a little warm-up before the NYC meet. JP? Dan? Put together a carload from the DC/MD/PA/VA crew and this thing is rockin'! Come on, let's do this!

This year's burning amp is this Saturday the 17th in Redwood City. http://www.burningamp.org I'm going to try and go. It is always fun to see what the DIY community has cooking. Is there anyone else who is planning on going?

A heads-up for those in the San Francisco area, The Burning Amp Festival, featuring Nelson Pass, Siegfried Linkwitz and lots of other cool guys. It should be one hell of a treat for anyone in the area who can make it, lots of cool stuff and there'll probably be enough tech talk to make your head spin. It's a great chance to hang out, listen to great gear, and learn more things in one day than you ever thought possible.
