Seeing as it looks like I will be moving away from the great state that brought us prohibition, I think it's time to see if there is any interest in a once in a lifetime Oz Fest? Thinking end of October beginning of November or beginning of February. I would normally say (living other places) that the weather might not be that great, but seeing as what there is to do doesn't really change with the weather, those dates are as good as any. Might make outdoors cooking and smoking a bit colder but I think anyone willing to brave coming to Kansas could handle it. Casers, I have long held a dream in my heart that we, as a team, could converge upon some of Europe's storied drinking locations. I'd love to stop by the Abbey in Westvleteren and grab a roadie, get tossed out of a dingy pub in London, or spend a week touring distilleries with you wonderful folks on Islay. I know it's tough to get away for enough time to make a European trip worth it, but I think it would be rewarding. Anyone else interested? Anything in the old world you're all excited to see for yourself?

Hey guys. I have a mini-meet coming up here that I am hosting at my place on both Nov 1st and Nov 2nd (second day is more an optional ordeal - not sure we'll have enough to make it worth it but I wanted to set aside more time for being objective in reviews and such) I haven't posted about it on Head-Fi because of the obvious, and that I only want so many people in my home. Naples Mini Meet on January 7th, 2010: Ron (HiFlight) and I exchanged a couple of PMs and decided to get together to try each other’s new gear. So, this is the thread to coordinate our "pre meet" activities. John can tell us when the setup activities should be done, and then we can figure out what we're gonna do afterward. Well Florida has been silent for far too long. We plan to get together Saturday 11/16 for maybe a bit of gear sampling while we drink a few bottles from Mike and my beer collection. There should likely be a trip to the Funky Buddha Brewery, maybe a bicycle ride the following morning and how knows what else. I just thought I would throw this one up as a reminder. This is a private meet following the debacle with the Cinci meet. Tkam, edipisreks, Vern, grandenigma1 and possibly nmculbreth will be coming. @jp11801 started talking about this meet in a different thread about a different meet, but if we're going to make something happen then we need a proper meet thread. This could be an opportunity to get the old Travel Team together again! @shellylh claims to be making the trip and Claire and I are considering going too. Some locals like @bozebuttons and @Kerry -- MOT MOT MOT! -- will be there. I realize we're getting close to can-jam; but several locals not attending the big meet wanted this (the last one was held July 5, '08 ). This one will be somewhat closer to city then last couple meets. Trav got us a very nice deal on a big room; he paid out of his pocket. I know there have been get togethers in TN before, but none I've ever been able to make it to. I nominate Chattanooga.
